as we seem to have a few different fantasy F1 games going on, how about we make up our own for next season?

if we knock a few rules up now and see how they play out for race by race, then by then end of the year we could have a solid base to start with next year.

what you guys think?

It's a good idea but who is going to write all the code to power the system? I dabble in php coding but that's beyond my skill level!

we have all winter to fine tune it lol.

I can do some PHP. I was thinking that most of it would just be in SQL. Then displaying data in PHP.

I was thinking about something like the pools one, but you have to buy your drivers. How much money you have depends on how well you did at the last race.

maybe it could be all about how much money you have at the end of the seaons instead of how many points you score?

You're SUCH a capitalist!

I'm in.

All we have to do is assign a dollar value to points earned. And perhaps for a kicker, additional dollar value gained if you pick things like the podium accurately, a win for the round, and go something like three consecutive GPs where you move up in the rankings.

I was thinking that you start off the season with no any funds, however everyone and everything is free.

then for the second race you will have to spend what your team is worth after the 1st race, you can then chop and change as you see fit to build up how much money you have until the end of the year.

Maybe even have the ability to post on here to say "I bet 1 million that Vettel is on the podium of the next race" then another user can take you up on that bet. that way it will stop silly bets happening."

Yep that is cool idea.

You can't tie picking your drives positions to a dollar value since the two philosophies of games are inherently different. So picks should always remain free, but we can leverage agreed upon rule to massage MOA's existing formula to calculate things.

We can even do things like an additional bonus payout if you're brave enough to make your picks BEFORE qualifying!

OK, how about the value of a driver is:-

Maximium upper limit of driver value* (number of points scored / maximum number of points that could of been scored)

So if for example the max value of a driver is 50

driver values at the moment would be
Driver / Pre / Post Italy
Alonso /41/39.7
Hamilton 29.2/31.5
Raikkonen 32.7/31.3
Vettel 35/31.1
Webber 33/29.3
Button 25.2/22.4

Being thoroughly useless on the technical side of things, I'll just sit back and enjoy the ride. :)
