Why do they do it? Its clear the rules intend to prevent the use of driver operated aerodynamic aids (with the exception of the lovely DRS system) so why bother trying to circumvent them like?
Surely Mercedes are going to end up wasting a lot of money, harming their reputation, and risk starting the season under a dark cloud.
Wouldn't it be better to comply with the spiirit of the regulations and just get on with racing?
