Ive heard the term bandied about a lot on here, usually intended to be derogatory, so I just wondered what people actually think it means? In the literal sense its a fan, who is a male or female. But being called a fan is ok-pleasant connotations; being called a fanboy or fangirl-not so pleasant, the user wants to insult.
The word fan itself comes from fanatic. Theres a load of stuff written about it on wikki

I just wondered what other people's take was. How they feel if they're called a fan boy or girl and what insult is intended when using the term.

I'll find some other trivia to post soon

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
