If women drive:-
* there wont be any virgins left (I dont think they mean virgin cars)

*there will be a massive upsugre in homosexuality ( )

*there will be upsurge in divorce (Ok , I can maybe go with this one)

*there will be an upsurge in prostitution ( )

One learned Sheikh a (Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen) disagrees, he thinks women should be allowed to drive, but only in extreme circumstances.............and then they should cover their head completely(that sounds fun :hehe: )
Better he concludes that they take a taxi........so long as its not driven by a man (:confused: )

I'm all for women driving vehicles. They can't do too much damage on a Scalextric track. :hehe:

This thread is quite well timed for me to get some women driver jokes. There's a girl at work who is getting their forklift training in January so I've got a few weeks of women driver jokes to get in (all in good nature of course). All suggestions will be welcomed!

Well when the car needs repaired of fed she is bound to get f****ed by a garage.

What self respecting guy will go out with a woman in a Prius or a pink Vauxhall Nova (there's one in these here parts)? They'll go with the person with a decent motor.

*there will be an upsurge in prostitution ( )

Home delivery service?

Blind leading the blind by the sounds of it. I guess that explains this picture:

All these women were blindfolded apparently. So many taxis wrecked. :headshake:

And before any man hating women of the Germain Greer or Jo Brand persuasion start moaning, I'm joking so I don't need to be hit will a rolling pin in the style of Nora Batty!

I have no problem with women driving, 'er indoors drives me home when I am drunk. when I am in that condition she is probably a better driver than me.

Saudi Arabia.....still behind the times. I've been there for business before,......never visit the place using your own pocket. That place is such a bore, calling it a bore is an insult to the word 'bore'.

zzzzzz.......

The obvious joke is that you'll be too drunk to be scared but that's not very nice so I won't say it. :hehe:

It isn't Saudi law, it's cultural. The men at the driving license bureau simply refuse to issue a license to a Saudi woman. Women can't be alone in a room with any man to whom they are not related, which is the rationale behind the taxi rule. And why Arabia in general favours escalators over lifts.

When they shop, Saudi women aren't supposed to handle the merchandise, they're supposed to have their male escort ("guardian") do it for them. They can be married off at age seven and divorced by receipt of an SMS "text message."

When they have so few rights (except the "right" to be so completely "protected" by men), the driving bit seems trivial, until you consider the act of driving brings with it a certain sense of independence, and independence can be an addictive drug. I have read opinions of cultural historians who believe western women's experiences with the "safety bicycle" was a critical component in the emergence of the Women's Sufferage movement. It gave them the ability to travel independent of men and to associate with whomever they pleased. All this associating with like-minded women somehow gave them the idea they were the equal of a man.

Oh dont get me started on the whole treatment of women in countries like Saudi. If a woman gets raped its her fault and she then gets stoned, burnt and/or killed by male members of her family.:banghead::banghead: Can they not see the lack of logic here??
The driving one made me laugh, but its not funny if you dig deaper.

It's got nothing to do with logic. The Saudi culture is totally different and I think much older to ours and it is a question of reepecting their culture. Many things which seem normal to them may seem barbaric to us however, many things that seem normal to us will be barbaric to them. I'm not conconing it and I'm not condemning it. Everyone in Saudi will know the laws and punishments. The **** one is a bit harsh but it's their culture.

Maybe more harshness is needed by our own law systems.
