Sad today :( Ive been reading about rhino's becoming extinct

Vietnamese rhino (only been discovered about twenty years)-extinct

Western black rhino of Africa-extinct

Northern White rhino of central Africa-possibly extinct.

We think we're so superior us humans and yet we destroy our home. Polute the seas, the air, cut down the forests and kill the animals ....including each other and some animals to extinction. I dont think we're a very nice type of animal.

I like rhino's. I think they're beautiful animals, thats why Im not happy today.

Tell me about it. I put my hand up as an animal lover....if I see an animal and a stranger drowning I might actually hesitate on who to save first. :P

There are movements who contribute to the wellbeing of the planet, but unfortunately the ones who cause the planet to die off slowly are way more powerful on a political and economic level. Which is something very hard to fight against.

I dread the day we have to say goodbye to tigers. And I feel it could come in the next 15 - 20 years if not sooner.

I despair for earth. Its so sad. We (humans in general-especially the powerful ones) are so selfish and greedy and shortsighted. :(

This is very bad news. Rhino's are beautiful animals, very majestic.

Wouldn't really want to come across one in the wild though!

We just passed the landmark of 7 billion people on Earth - do you think this has anything to do with it?:banghead:

Trouble is they are not alone in being this way.Tigers snow leopards, jaguars and lions are another few in danger, thats just cats.Sadly it's humans taking over added to climate change (something I feel we aren't really to blame for)

No. I deliberately didnt mention climate control because Im not convinced thats human interference. Too many of us though for sure. The long term future looks pretty bleak.

I actually heard somewhere (on the radio I think) that the growth in the human population will soon peak and start falling again though, there's only so many of us that can actually survive in such a number.

Just something I heard that I thought I'd throw in....

All animals eventually end up extinct even without assistance to the worst animal on the planet - humans.
