Hmmm i'm surprised no one has talked about it here...

WTF. That was a major bummer, great talent. Loved her music.

I'm sure it was not a huge surprise as EVERYONE was expecting that... but gee, will people ever learn? saw a clip of her Belgrade performance and she was WASTED. Real pity.

Guess people should keep an eye on Britney Spears when she nears 27, although she's not talented enough to join the Forever 27 group......

Hardly surprising that someone who is a drug addict and an alcoholic died. To be blut this is minor compared to the situation in Norway, which was a real tradegy (where's the thread for that?).

Pleanty of folk who are not famous die from addiction/overdoses aged 27 and younger. Where is their mention?

Sympathies to her family and all that.......

Just another famous person to die or go missing aged 27.

exactly

That was a REAL MAJOR tragedy... friend of mine lives in Norway. Scary. Specially considering this is "extreme right" stuff... this line of thinking is everywhere and has been resurfacing all over. F** ''em right wings!!

In a way though... i think Amy's death was "predictable" that's why its unnerving, and i feel let down that no one reached out and actually helped the girl (and the hundreds of 27's who die addiction-related). Its happening every day in our faces, and much more than 91 people die each yr..........

The Norway thing was simply a major surprise, so i guess nothing anyone could do about it. And I mean that while not undermining the tragedy...

Thing is, though, they did. She had many, many people try to help her over the years, many attempts at getting her off drink and drugs, but she either lacked the willpower or just didn't care enough to go through with it.

I've known two drug addicts in my life, both very vibrant, intelligent, charismatic and thought provoking people, both very much beyond the reach of anyone that ever tried to help them, both dead before the age of 30.

That's exactly what I was going to say. Help was pushed away.

I don't understand how a predictable death is unnerving. Surely something unpredictable is unnerving?

I dont know... dont think most of those people really wanted to help her... I mean, the whole bad girl junkie seems to make more interesting headlines. Besides, yes, an 'awaited' death is pretty unnerving... unless unnerving means calming (ie the opposite of nervous) hehe

Anyway, its really difficult to help addicts... alcoholics and also clinically depressed/bipolar... its ussually very hard on all the people surrounding the victim........

9 times out of 10 you can not help someone unless they want help.

Hate me if you want for the following, I don't care.

I'm not glad she died. Her music sucked so one less person cluttering up the mainstream with trash. I am truly glad about that. You gotta look for the positives!!

Here's to hoping rihanna chooses a new career and stops putting out trash that I have to hear all day in the mall I work at too :drink:

Didn't even know who she was until she died.

Same here. In the article talking about the person she was, it mentioned her cheating on her husband/bf or something....wtf? Is that how you make someone look 'special and good' in the death-ticle?

Alot of people focused on her rather than Norway, when really it doesn't compare.
