MrE is correct in saying this.

Putting aside the fact that MrE is correct in his comments again, this is just the F1 ringmaster in action. It is his job to stir up attention for F1 and his comments are aimed at goading fans of other drivers into responding, as this thread will shortly prove. :D

Bernie loves Seb, I think he thinks hes the special one, hasnt really had the time for ALonso and Lewis from what ive seen.

In an article somewhere back he said hed have Lewis and Vettel in his team should he own one.

Then again he also wants sprinklers for race tracks.....

Yeah, I take comments from Bernie with a pinch of salt these days....

Oh well, Lewis will show them all who's boss at the weekend imo. :D

I hope ure right. I think the hot blown diffuser ban will affect McLaren badly. Their car has suffered poor downforce right from the start. The hot blown diffuser has maked it somewhat... In my uintechnical opinion. I still hope for Silverstone magic.

I think it would be quite a hollow victory. Won only because of the restrictions on the EBD.

Sad that F1 now has an air of if "you can't beat them, don't bother joining them, just get their potential advantage banned".

What next, banning wheels on the Red Bulls as they are deemed to be a movable aerodynamic device?

Damn, I'm cynical. :irked:

they had a crazy octopus EBD racechick, it wasnt the lack of EBD that caused their early issues, just their version which in theory was great but in practical function didnt work.

Everyone keeps signalling out RB but i see RB Ferrari and McLaren all losing tenths, but remaining in the current status quo. Redbull fans need not worry.

Oh yes. I remember that octopus. So you dont think this ban will affect McLaren worse? Pretty much stay the same?

the EBD is still being used, the teams wont change their diffusers, just the off throttle use of it, so mid corner after braking, it will affect all the teams who use it.

I guess every victory against RB rings hollow this year as they have to make a mistake to be beaten given their car's (and driver) superiority. So they blew a tire strategy in China, Seb put a wheel wrong (by 10 cm) in Canada, will there be anything else?

Poor Webber, is really making Red Bull look bad this year.

Im so intrigued by this; " Won only because of restrictions on the EBD"

Youll find Mclaren have won two races, one on superior driving talent and strategy, and one on superior driving talent and a mistake from Vettel.

Am i the only one who finds that when it suits the red bull brigade its Vettels talent that his domination is accounted to, and when it suits the red bull brigade its the EBD ban which is Red Bulls domination (which is what youve implied with your hollow victory, only won on EBD restriction) Its either one or the other, you canjust say;

Vettels talent won him race
Vettels talent won him race
Vettels talent won him race
Vettels talent won him race
Silverstone EBD ban...
EBD Ban lost us race
EBD ban lost us race
EBD ban lost us race.

I think Lewis would beat him if they were in like for like cars, as Alonso found out to his cost. Always wondered why Bernie doesn't really like Lewis, as I would have thought he must be good for his profits.

Oh well, Lewis will show them all who's boss at the weekend imo. :D

The thing is the Daily Mirror is anti Hamilton and pro Button,it's plain as day that Byron Young is a Jenson fan.

Ask yourself why it's Lewis who has been sent a serious blow and not Button or Alonso or Webber, why Lewis. Bernie didn't mention Lewis in his comments so what is the connection with Lewis with Bernie's comments, surely it would be a serious blow to all the other drivers and especially the top drivers not just Lewis.

It's the Byron Young's hate agenda against Lewis and trying to unsettle him before the weekend but Lewis does not read the papers and the people around him don't tell him what others are saying.

China was won by Red Bull making a balls up of the tyre strategy. Canada was won by Button thanks to a large degree of luck (Button was right place right time and lucky not to have any damage after his collision with Hamilton) with the safety car and Vettel making a slight mistake. I don't think vettel has been outraced by anyone this year, just others have got lucky in China and Canada. If you look at the European GP, it seems the guy wasn't even having to push all that hard for most of the race (you would be forgiven to thinking he had handed the keys to Morgan Freeman :hehe: ) whereas everyone else was spanking their car round the track!

I guess every victory against RB rings hollow this year as they have to make a mistake to be beaten given their car's (and driver) superiority. So they blew a tire strategy in China, Seb put a wheel wrong (by 10 cm) in Canada, will there be anything else?

I think the EBD restriction will close the gap to Red Bull but there is word about McLaren coming off the worst in this. I dare say a certain amount is hyperbole aimed at the opposition.

As with last year, Webber is trailing behind. I don’t buy the whole “the car is built round Vettel” argument as it just doesn’t make sense to deliberately knobble 1 driver. Sure Vettel is the No. 1 driver in the team (only right) but I think he is just a better driver than Webber. Of course, winning the championship last year is a massive confidence boost so I dare say that comes into it. If Webber bides his time, Vettel will have an off day or a bought of bad luck. At the moment I think this is Webbers only chance to beat Vettel.

Am i the only one who finds that when it suits the red bull brigade its Vettels talent that his domination is accounted to, and when it suits the red bull brigade its the EBD ban which is Red Bulls domination (which is what youve implied with your hollow victory, only won on EBD restriction) Its either one or the other, you canjust say;

Yes you are the only one. :hehe: It is not down soley to a driver these days. It all depends on the machinery. I recently heard that it is something like 10% driver and 90% car in this modern era of F1. Us Vettel fans like to look at the technical reasons behind a victory and a loss. If someone has just driven better then that is what it is but if it is due to an FIA ruling then we will say it is that. If Vettel or Red Bull win I will be keen to hear what McLaren and Ferrari have to say about it.

Well i dont agree with you andrew, anyone finishing second has been outraced, Vettel has been outraced twice, especially moreso considering he was overtaken ON TRACK in both the races he finished second, by the cars that actually won.

Its pretty cringeworthy when anyone makes so many excuses for any given driver, Vettel was outraced twice. End of.
