***DISCLAIMER*** Yes I am back from taking a break from this forum, I needed a rest, flaming Bud and Racechick is hard work and now I'm back, I want to play nice :)

I'm a bit of a conspiracy theorist, because I think there's too much money in F1 for it to be honest, however Schumacher... You think he's selling everyone a story?

Yes he was the most successful F1 driver of all time, many believed the greatest, many also believed his win at all costs attitude was his major flaw and even though it didn't detract from his driving skill, his overall reputation suffered and it was this that stopped him from being known as the all time true great by many.

He would know this. It would p!ss me off to no end if I smashed all the record books however a lot of the F1 fans out there thought I was a w@nker. Yep, the press have their hand to play in this as well, there's nothing better for ratings then a Heroes vs Villains story, however the press weren't exactly starved for material, Schumacher gave them plenty to work with LoL.

For the first time this weekend, I saw fans, previously Schumacher Anti's, saying "Hmm, I would have rather liked to see Schumacher on the podium this weekend"

I actually think if Schumacher came back in his first year and started winning everything again it would have done F1 harm, everyone would have switched off and it would be 2002-2004 all over again.

Now I'm aware, being a Schumacher disciple, I could very well be making excuses for a lack of form and or team performance. However I don't think Schumacher is that stupid, he would know within himself if he's still got it or not, he would have too much to lose to come back and trail around at the back like so many previous champions...

I'm not saying he's sandbagging, he's giving us a struggle, he's giving the other drivers elbow room whilst he appears to be finding his feet again. He's changing public opinion rather nicely :-)

Think it's possible he's selling us a story? He's finally learnt a few tricks from the Max and Bernie Show? :hehe:

That Bernie sat down and said to Schumacher he could come back into F1 as long as he doesn't kill ratings again and Schumacher said "That's fine, my agenda doesn't have me winning everything again straight away."

Well hello DeMure :) Nice to see you back and yes I had noticed a change in your posting style. I didnt realise i was such hard work

On Schumacher. It wont surprise you to hear I disagree( Though I am one of those people who never liked him but would have like to see him on the podium last weekend). You see I think he's grossly over-rated ( I apologise because I'd be mighty pissed off if that was said about Lewis) But its what i think. Best car, no team mate challenge, bent the rules etc etc. the statistics dont paint the whole picture. But of course he's good, just not special, well not to me. I admire him for coming back and sticking with it. I have far more respect for him now than I ever did before. But actually I think not being in the best car and having exceptional talent on the grid has suprised him, as has having a competaive team-mate. But as I said browny points for sticking with it.

I always felt he already proved himself enough with his entry to F1 and work ethic in building up Ferrari, to warrant a team lead role.

If he does it this time around he's dispelled one of his critic's biggest arguments, he's never had to race his team mate :-)

I find it odd that age seems to make such a massive difference in this sport ( or so the commentators would have you think ) Eddie Jordon lambasted Sauber for putting DelaRosa in the drivers seat, saying he was 'too old' what is the major difference between a driver in his 20's and a driver in his 40's? Is it reaction time or is it physical?

What a load of :bs:

Awwwe come on man, it's not even a little bit believable? :D

nope

LOL
Could it be......... simply the Mercedes car is not that good for Schumacher to go smashing records on; and that he has had a little extra trouble getting used to... say, all the new buttons on the steering wheel?

Rosberg hasnt exactly done much shining in that car either has he? the only shining he's had is actually bettering Schumacher for the most part.....

Yes he's raced his team mate fair and square this year. And team mate is winning out, and its not a top notch team mate. Good..but not top notch.

Hehe yep, you can relax now, I sort of like McLaren now that Ron Dennis has gone :-) Martin Whitmarsh is a lot more likeable and I think he's clever at mind managing Hamilton. I like how he's responded in the press to Hamilton's mistakes.

I don't think eddie's problem with that situation was that De La Rosa was just too old. The problem was he got thrown into a car which he was not used to driving, and nearly crashed in qualy (or was it P3?). If Sauber thought there was even a remote chance of Sergio not driving, which is always the case when concussions are involved, they should have had their own test driver prepped and ready to go. And they had no one.
