Who's Tom Pryce?

Died when a marshall carrying a fire extinguisher ran across the track and Tom Pryce hit him. A very sad event.

Edit: I googled Pryce to check that I had my facts right. It seems that you can see footage of his fatal crash on youtube. What kind of ghouls post that sort of material :(:(:thumbdown::thumbdown:

He was the most successful Welsh driver, there have been 4 Welsh drivers in F1, including Alan Rees, who was later a cofounder of March Engineering.

Also, the choice of thread title is perhaps a tad distasteful

I would hardly say it was a tom pryce moment, the speeds involved here are very low in comparison. The marshall that was hit by pryce was ripped in two and pryce was half decapitated.

He is also the only Welsh F1 driver.

Incorrect, there have been 4. He is the only Welsh F1 driver to get on the podium.

Jackie Lewis scored 3 points in 1961, retired & became a sheep farmer.
Tom Pryce, 19 points, 2 podiums & 1 pole position.
Alan Rees, 3 races, retired & co-founder of March Engineering (the AR in March stood for Alan Rees) & co-founder of the Arrows team.
Shane Summers, 7 non championship races, but still races under the "Formula One" banner.

I stand corrected :-)
