Since we are all on here so much and share alot I hope you don't mind me sharing my latest family news. Just found out lastnight that my Aunt Myra was diagnosed with cancer yesterday and today we will findout the stage it is in, it is in several of her organs already. My Aunt Myra is the youngest of 5 girls and the cool aunt I guess you could say. My Aunt Maxine died of cancer 5yr's ago and my Uncle Maurice who is also a law enforcement offficer has been battling his cancer for 2yr's now but it just keeps spreading.

All three of these family members were/are the biggest influence on me and my brothers lives growing up. When will we get some good news??? :(

Thanks for listening,
tex

Sorry to hear that Tex; I can relate; two aunties and an uncle on my father's side of the family died of cancer, albeit some time ago now.

Here's hoping for some better news!

I'm sorry to hear that, it's a difficult situation to be in and I hope you're able to cope with it all, and that they are able to find peace regardless of the outcome.

Many thanks for the kind words and support. Living in this small town I have only two true friends and ironically one of them's husband is currently battling a stage 4 cancer so I do not have alot of vent room.

Thanks again,
tex

Know how you feel, Tex. My wife, mother and father all died of cancer and my father-in-law has today been diagnosed with metastasised prostate cancer. They intend to manage it with hormone treatment but it's not a cure. 2 to 5 years is the expected prognosis before they switch to chemo but that will only be for pain management towards the end.

Yep, life's a bitch.

Gregg so sorry to hear about your aunt. I wish all the best for all involved.
Not much in the way of cancer has gone on in my family but I have a close friend whos 1 year old son somehow ended up with it in his brain stem. Neuroblastoma. It was quite advanced when they discovered it which for a toddler is a death sentence. However he's actually doing better than expected with the chemo but the chemo puts him through hell. And it causes a lot of other problems later in life, one of which is cancer, ironically.
Gregg, has anyone in the family broached the topic of any type of natural treatment? Just saying, I have heard things. Not to sound kooky or anything.

The cancer only seem's to happen on my mothers side of the family and I forgot to mention my grandmother on my mom's side of the family (our rock she was) died of bone cancer when I was 17. Thankfully so far it seem's my brother and I recieved a VERY strong immune system from our father as there are no issues with cancer whatsoever on his side of the family just old age symptons.

Concerning the natural treatments I cannot say forsure if their doctor's have also discussed those options with them but I will ask. A member on another forum brought that very subject up a few days back but the issue with their post was obviously their own personal agenda against the whole healthcare state of affairs etc etc. I'm an optimist and do not discredit the natural approach it's just that I'm not very familiar with all that is out there but hey I'm all for trying new approach's.
