are these 2 teams just a joke or will they ever be able to challenge with the mid teams like toro rosso and force india?

Remember, every team that qualifies and finnishes a race isn't a joke at all. It's impossible for every team to be good like the other.

Well, everyone tries to do the best they can... Now we see HRT on every race. Soon maybe even better than Virgin.

Every team has to start somewhere. HRT and Virgin will be striving just as hard as everyone else, and hopefully progress will be made. We should be thankful they're there. The more teams the merrier I say... :)

HRT are doing well now in relative terms, closing in on Virgin race after race, Virgin however seem to be standing still while everyone else are moving forward. The problem with F1 is that it's a big money sport and HRT don't have very much of it; given the resources they have, they've done very well, I expect them to beat Virgin to 11th place these season!

You could almost lump in Williams with HRT and Virgin this year, but no one is calling them a disgrace.

It is so harsh to call HRT and Virgin a disgrace. Give them a chance!

As for Williams, they are doing better than those two at the moment, but not by the biggest of margins. Which is worrying, given their background. Interlagos 2004 seems a long time ago now..... Come to think of it, so does Juan Pablo Montoya....

I didn't mean to imply I thought they're a disgrace. My point was that there are other teams performing poorly this year too, so it's not fair to single-out HRT and Virgin.

Agreed! People predicted they won't even make the grid this year but they've done it and have started qualifying without much of a problem. It seems to be a team which uses the resources at hand plus the brains at hand. I still respect this team more than teams which throw cash around like rain and achieve nothing...example being BAR Honda with Jacques V. Or Toyota.

BAR/Honda and Toyota were both incredibly frustrating to watch, given their funding. :irked:

I think it's even possible to see a point scored for Liuzzi in case of rain...

Yes, Liuzzi could do with something good coming his way for a change......

In 2004, I watched him dominate F3000, and he made his debut with Red Bull the following year, sharing his seat with '04 rookie Christian Klien. At that time, Liuzzi was selected as a possible future champion. It's a shame it has gone the entirely opposite way, and he's now racing at the tail-end of things. :(

Well, you need to be a beast in the car to win a championship! :hehe:

Absolutely. I just think he needs a better chance to show what he can do. However, he maybe better placed at HRT than Virgin to maybe do just that...
