This is absolutely incredible, but, apparently most of the current drivers have been involved in some tests to find if there is some genetic features common to great drivers. This clinic has been mapping their DNA - and guess what, Lewis is a distant cousin of Fernando!

I've read this study too. It also turns out Felipe Massa is related to literally every NASCAR driver.

Have you got a link to this? I know a fair bit about DNA as I've had my yDNA (which is passed down from father to son found in the Y Chromosome mapped as well as my mtDNA (from mother to son or daughter on the X chromosome)

From the sounds of it they only tested haplogroups which wouldn't be linked to any "racing gene" they only see your distant relations. For Lewis and Fernando to have a link would have to be via the mtDNA as Lewis' mum was European but even then MtDNA markers are fairly old to the age of 30,000 years ago. yDNA have had more mutations and thus more recent markers even still they are 2,000 to 5,000 years old depending on the haplogroup.

I was certified at birth "he's alittle cookoo" but they kept me anyway . I am alittle curious about the DNA thing though yet there are other aspects atleast to myself that come into play in what makes a person a 'risk taker' if I may, adrenalin junkie comes too mind. Also a frame of mind that makes certain people racers uh oh heck I cannot even think of the proper word to use but I think you know what I mean?
