So I am a bit behind in the times lol, I can't download this app because I don't have an android product, but I do have the emulator to use it. Does anyone know how I can download this app or obtain this app if I don't have a sign in from an android device?

I just can't believe they only made this for hand helds and not for the PC itself! :bs:

<EDIT> moved to technophiles WB.

Thanks for the head's up actually. I go through handsets like water and I hated having to work with Android handsets since the freebie F1 app wasn't available for Android OS devices... as recently as last month.

They had it for iPhone, BlackBerry, Nokia, but not Android! Just loaded it and it's working fine. Not their paid app, but I wouldn't pay for it anyway... too busy watching the race. :)

Oh and to answer your original question, try going to the F1.com site directly and checking the "downloads" from there, it usually scans for what OS you're using and presents a generic suitable option if it can't find your device, or it asks you to choose yourself. What emulator are you using froyo or honeycomb?

Isn't there an online timing page on the official F1 site?

I can't login to it, forgotten my password and the option to have it reset and sent to my email doesn't seem to be working, i had this problem before and gave up then too.

Yeah you're right there is... I thought it was pointless though at least for me, because I'd be in front of a tv instead of in front of a pc. The phone AP is ideal.

I will warn you though, it's absolutely diabolical on the race weekend when Fox airs the races as they show them about 4 hours after the actual race and it's soooo tempting to look at the phone.

Got a little wireless netbook thing here so could be fine on that...... if i can ever get logged in.

Create a new profile, or create a new gmail and and then create a new F1 profile if you're forgotten your original password. I think the online log it gives you an opportunity to reset your pw by sending a link to your registered email address.

it's useful if you want to watch the race edits in HD streaming as well besides the F1 app.

yeah, I'm doing the thing (and done it before) to get a new password sent to my email account but I never recieve anything (not filtered into spam either).

I did get another account set up with my phone though so I'll use that.

Do you need to have a special phone for this sort of thing? I mean like special Nokia, or?

You need a phone that runs the android operating system to run the mobile app, there might be an app for the iphone too but I don't know about that.

To get the timing on your PC, there is a page on the official F1 website, you need to register there to access it.

If you have a web browser on your phone you might be able to access that but again, I'm not sure.

So after using the FREE F1 timing app for a few years, what's new for the 2012 season? Well, not a free version, just their overpriced full version. Granted it's got a lot of useful bells and whistles but not enough for me to fork over $28.99 for a year's subscription. The free version gave you everything this version has but without the animated track position and tires being used. The whole point of the app was to have something that I could quickly look at during the race to get a sense of lap times and pit in and outs etc.

Way to go Bernie I hope hope you sell dozens of them...

That's lame.

I had it on my phone but never actually used it, so it's no loss to me that Bernie has gotten greedier, $29 is extortionate, I despite companies that offer something for free, then start charging!
