Yeah, he won't, cause everyone with sense and knowledge of F1 knows how bloody quick he can be already, and in a fast McLaren that makes for a very potent combination.

Excuse me for not being a fan of his. I don't doubt his abilities in an F1 car.

I don't doubt his abilities either, and I'm a bit of a fan( not completely sold but prepared to be wowed) but he couldn't pull off that look. It makes me giggle thinking of him trying :hehe:

To be honest, standing half naked with tyre marks on your torso is not a good look for anyone. Usually means you've been run over by the number 19 bus which is never a good thing. :hehe:

Just wait, Jenson will help him sort things out this season. :hehe:

I'm sure that look got him a handful of years of yours and my salary combined.

McLaren must be happy with Button driving the team

Sergio Perez says this after his best time at Barcelona was at the top
http://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2013/02/perez-says-mclaren-have-made-a-huge-leap-forward-from-jerez-to-barcelona/

Then Button takes his turn and the McLarens top time is comfortably in the mid field
Button says McLaren are falling behind with the car with the car and that it might not be as good as the other cars that were evolved from last year, instead of changed like the McLaren
Jenson Button says McLaren are struggling to get to grips with the new car that carries their World Championship hopes this season.

"It's been very difficult to understand where the car is. At times it feels good; at others it doesn't," he said.

Lets not forget that JB was involved in the direction of the development, and that he told us this was the best McLaren ever!

He admits the car is fast in Sergios hands though

Button's team-mate Sergio Perez led the times on Wednesday.
Button said: "Today on hards I did a one minute 22.8 seconds, which I don't think is a bad lap with the fuel that we had on board. And [my team-mate] Checo [Perez] did a 1:21.8 on softs yesterday ( posting the fastest time of the day), which is also pretty good.

And now young Checo comes out with this
"Jenson is obviously a very experienced driver and has put a lot into the car," he said.

There's nothing wrong with the time Button set today. The time was set with high fuel loads and with hard tyres. When you take THAT into account, the time is VERY competitive.

Because Briton was on 'hard' tyres while Alonso was on 'softs', however, Button's lap was more competitive than the headline times suggest.

Lay off the McLaren and Button bashing. FFS the talking will be done in Melbourne.

My point is not the times or the car, its Buttons reverting to his normal self, complaining (about lack of testing), obviously feeling he needs to explain why his team mate was faster and so blaming the car

Also, if you take your reose tinted McLaren specs off, you might want to take note of the evolving dynamic between the team mates

You might want to take note of this little snippet from the same Sergio interview
Perez, 23, played down the prospect that his relationship with McLaren could break down, just as it did with other Latin drivers like Juan Pablo Montoya and Fernando Alonso.

now I didnt ask the question, it was a reporter, (doing his job not laying into McLaren)

I wonder why that was brought up at that point?

Lighten up mate, and share some :hooli-popcorn: its gonna get interesting

Usual suspects usual venom.

The last time I did any button bashing, it was bashing the Z and X 'rubber' buttons on Daly Thompson's Decathlon on the ZX Spectrum! :P

As for Jenson Button; he expresses his opinion like any other driver and it was probably sensationalised by the author; taking parts of a quote while leaving out other parts out to sell the article.

We'll have to wait and see what happens during the season; all this pre-season testing means the square root of nothing!

I posted a link to this last night.....well obviously I didn't because its not here :hehe: finger trouble again :D
But I read that and thought it very negative comments about the car....unless it was a ploy, media games.
I hadn't read the Checo comments, about the car being adapted for Button.
I remember talk last year when Hamilton announced he was leaving, that the car was designed for Hamilton, I was surprised at that, though it made sense for a title challenge. So maybe they've adjusted it and its not working out too well. They did say they'd made big changes rather than an evolution. So big changes before they adapted if for Button, or after? If after then they won't know if its the initial design that needs tweaking or the adaptation. I'm sure they'll get to grips with it. But I was surprised to hear such negativity so early and surprised to hear even vague hints of favouritism so early.

In 2012 the car was designed to suit Button,I saw an article about it just after the launch of the MP4-27
