A poor decision.

I dunno...I kinda feel good about it :D

They say ignorance is bliss.

Well, you'd know!! Hehe, sorry, couldn't resist... :hehe:

Says the David Cameron supporter.

What? Where'd you get that from?? Think you're mixing me up with someone else...

I love how childish this thread has become. Seriously, you all deserve a pat on the back for your efforts.

Can we not, just for once, actually have a mature discussion? >.<

It feels like some sort of rage virus has infected the forum, every thread is turning into an argument :scratchchin:

Mm. I don't have to wonder why I prefer reading books that I've already read several times to logging on to this thing. :/

Well, as Oscar Wilde said, If one cannot enjoy reading a book over and over again, there is no use in reading it at all...

To be fair you threw the first punch by calling him stupid, it was his mistake being a mod to rise to it however.

This is worse. At least back then there were a few threads where you could, you know, have a discussion. At the end of the day, Jenson is the current world champion. You don't get that by being a bad driver.

Correct on both counts.

But your correct DD Hamilton made more errors in 2008 than Button did this year. However its poor comparison in my opinion, considering Jenson has been in the sport for 10 years and Lewis for 2.

It is a perfect comparison: they drive at the same time in the same series and I compare their actual performances, not their POTENTIAL performances if they had the same amount of experience. There's no shame in acknowledging that experience makes a driver a better driver. There are enough other factors with getting older that usually tip the balance towards the negative, so why take out one of the few positive ones from the equation?

Jenson will definitely be cheaper. And for the sake of team relationship, he could probably be a better choice than Kimi; in the sense that Jenson will have a better relationship with Lewis and the media and so on... Kimi is no moaner, but things would be a bit more uptight within the team. Anyway, Kimi is the better bet. Maybe it depends on how much $ Mclaren are willing to invest.

And for Jenson wanting to leave a WDC/WCC team for Mclaren, everyone knows Brawn were able to jump ahead everyone, but clearly showed they weren't able to keep up the development (we still dont know what future deals Brawn have regarding $ and so on.... so i'm only speaking based on 09), while Mclaren proved the opposite. Also, for some reasons Brawn are looking elsewhere as well...

Jenson is not a better driver than Kimi, and i would prefer by far Kimi at Mclaren. But who is a "more deserving" champion?? hmmmm pretty arguable. Interestingly enough, I think Jenson.

I was about to say similar stuff
And was thinking exactly the same re. LH last year. While JB conducted a nearly flawless, error-free title campaign, LH last year on more than one occasion looked like a tool.
I'm almost tempted to compare them two drivers the way I'd compare AP and AS, with my preference being on the smart professor-style driver rather than on the error-prone hot-shot.

The legendary Prost - arguably the best driver of all time - mentioned alongside Button. Has this forum any standards?

You may have noticed I did not compare them with the legends, but said I would compare them like I would compare AP and AS, referring to their styles and season management.

Eh? Comparing Button and Hamilton as you would Prost and Senna means you are connecting Button with Prost and Hamilton with Senna to a good extent.

I still feel as though I must clarify my position on cerebral driving styles. I have absolutely nothing against it. It is another perfectly legitimate method of driving. Any driver who drives as fast as he can for a whole race is an idiot. The point I'm making here is that Prost executed his plans to drive intelligently without flaw, and he was able to up the ante when he needed to. People are confusing Button's ineptitude with Prost-like driving, and these things are binary opposites.

A bit harsh :D

However, there's no doubt in my mind that JB is more of a Prost-like driver than of a Senna-like driver.

The last great one (and greatest IMO) driver who combined those two styles to perfection was MS.

McLaren will take Kimi Im certain but honestly he is not going to peform up to standards, I reckon he could if he could be bothered to race properly but not with his current attitude.

I think Jenson will be ok at McLaren but i stilll think he will stay at Brawn.

If anyone Nico Rosberg should get the drive he is a talented individual who would give Hamilton a real run for his money in the right car and besides I think the team will be happy. One British driver for McLaren and one German driver for Mercedes Benz, I know Norbert Haug holds Nico in high regard.

If all else fails turn to Bruno Senna, he is a very promising driver ( as good as his uncle we will have to see ) and Im sure McLaren would like him since how much Ayrton contributerd to the team back in the old days.

Now if u are unbelievably desperate resign Heikki Kovaleinen :hehe:

I agree with the Nico bit,but don't forget that Lewis has been racing against Nico for years and won,it will be nothing new for him.Nico and Lewis are friends and i personally think it would give McLaren a real top driver line up.

Nico in the right car is an exceptional driver, just like Lewis. :)

Jenson needs to stay put,it's his only chance of doing well next year.If any Brawn/Jenson fans think he will repeat his performance of this year, then you are dreaming.Ross will not have the element of surprise. :nono::nono:

Jenson clearly showed in the second half of the season that he is just an average driver who got lucky under Ross Brawn.
