Also, with no Brawn, we'd be looking at a very very open championship right now, with Red Bull and Toyota at the top, and Ferrari fighting back, and no clear no. 1 at any of those teams, means that we'd still be looking at 6 drivers who could possibly win. Instead, everyone knows right now that Jenson will probably win now.

Gawd, Brawn ruined this season. :irked:

Perhaps the FIA will introduce a rule banning teams from having their sh*t together. Unless they have a prescribed sum total of driver brain fade, poor design decisions, exploding engines, lying officials, three wheeled pit stops, ridiculous strategy, and all the rest they'll get a points penalty to negate their "unfair" advantage.

In the pre season i was on the real Honda f1 site regularly looking for news.
At the start of the season i was taken in by the brawn success story and was truly glad they made it and glad Jenson and Rubens got a drive.

But they are dominating like Ferrari with Schumacher in 2004 and its not very interesting to watch, and its not like McLaren in 1988 when we had a fight between two drivers.

I wouldn't be so fussed if it was Rubens Vs Jenson.

Keeps making me think would Senna of been a better option i mean imagine him the nephew of Ayrton Senna comming out and winning his 1st grand prix and then going on to win 5/6 and lead the word championship.

Hypothetical of course

I'm just saying, things are more fun when they are less predictable. I mean, who isn't 90% sure Button will be world champ by the end of the year.

I guess you right. I dont really watch any of the races at the moment. button lightyears ahead and unless they have a few DNF's he probably will take the season. one of those things i guess. secondly I think Button deserves it. I will get pissed off if next season is a repeat of this one. then maybe spend more time watching indian cricket.

Domination happens quite alot in F1. In the modern era anyways. Mansell started off the trend... damn reliability

Seems the concept and reality of racing has been lost with this thread :( .

Yeh but wouldn't you rather see a few more battles for the win.

a closer title fight?

I dont really see it like that because if a team has a dominate package good on them and if they win every race I would still be happy. I cannot truelly explain in words my outlook, sometimes putting thoughts into words is difficult, atleast for myself.

Well I can't complain about reliability. I'd prefer if all the cars were 100% reliable. It means I wouldn't have had to go through the pain of Hungary 08, 3 laps... why, WHY!! :irked:

I think this year is simply a result of Brawn getting the jump on everyone. As one team said, all the cars this year are still underdeveloped. But the Brawn isn't so. They're had a lot longer to perfect and refine the design of their car.

However, I do believe the Brawn would struggle more if the Q3 rules were different. The Brawn is so much better on a heavier fuel load. If Q3 included light fuel runs, then the other cars could get on front of the Brawns and control the race. We need to tell Bernie that, he'd torture the FIA till they changed the rules if knew it would mean Brawn would be less dominant.

Should be the case next year anyway b/c of refueling ban.

yeah about that, are they shortening the races, or like putting in huge fuel tanks or making the engine more efficient?
