Hamilton looks ultra confident, he's standing with confidence, holding his head with confidence and even his hand and feet positions show confidence.

He does look that way, especially during top 3 photo thing, Walking around looking pretty relaxed and not too much bothering him.

I dont understand mag. He could have qualified 4th easy, what was he doing in the pits for most of q3. I dont understand??

He said the car felt different in Q3 for whatever reason. Vergne had an issue of some sort in Q3 too.

T2 is going to be interesting especially with the sleeping policemen and the long straight beforehand.

Pecking order looks straight forward up front

Merc will be OP, 1-2 in the bag, Bottas in a lonely 3rd so that is the likely podium. McLaren look to have the 3rd best car and Ferrari, Toro Rosso and Red Bull in a nice battle there, And you have to say Toro Rosso look to have a car package better suited at Sochi rather the Red Bull so that will be interesting in tomorrow's race.

nice to see massa and magnessun moving up the feild, hopefully kvyat does well.

Called it, Merc front row and then Williams....but no Felipe Baby. Not too upset about that, but great job Kyvat....Putin Power!

Reliability is King Lewis' only threat tomorrow...fingers crossed.

Nice job by Bottas, for a fleeting moment it looked like pole was possible but his rears had given up. He could be a force tomorrow.

Kvyat was also very impressive putting himself ahead of the Red Bull and the Ferrari's.

"For me, I didn't lock up in qualifying which is always a bonus.I actually did a lap worthy of the car, if you like, whereas the last few qualifying sessions I've made a mistake and locked up which has cost me a bit of time."

"Both tyres were good - we ran the prime in Q1 which would have got us through to Q2. It was a good job from the team to stay calm after a tough FP3. Yesterday we would have expected P4 but after this morning we were thinking it was going to get into Q3 so I'm very happy with <blank>."

Can anyone guess the driver who'd utter such lameness in public.

Yeah Lewis was comfortable still, Bottas could have taken 2nd though.

RC you forgot to mention Kvyat who did perfect, I hope they have a good race setup because they've walked all over Red Bull

Yes Kvyat was superb! I didn't think I'd get to see quali but managed it! Got guests and thought I'd gave to entertain with beach walks :yikes: but I managed to hold them if till after quali.
Anyone know how long it us to the first corner? I forgot to look during quali.

Actually Button impressed today. He really pulled through in qualifying which is something that has eluded him all year. Something was off though on his post race interviews. Either something with the car that he is concerned about tomorrow or just that he's got no clue as to why they've all of the sudden found the speed and is afraid it will all go away somehow.

Needless to say, I pick up Mags for my fantasy team and he promptly goes and get a grid penalty. I also completely forget about the home circuit effect and dropped Kvyat for Vergne. I think I may have given Frontrunner the break he was looking for.

@RC....Almost a kilometer long, longest of any circuit in rundown to the first corner. Pole means nothing if the start is not hooked up tomorrow.

It's the second corner that's the real issue. It's a long way off and everyone will be at major speed on cold tires. The GP2 start was insane.

Speaking of GP2, Felipe Nasir came off as such a wuss sourpuss.

Thanks for the start info guys. How did Mitch Evans do in the GP2 ?

I can not help but think that even thought the Mclaren has got the optimum down force level for the fastest lap. They are loosing too much on the straights and will get mugged. So they are going to drop down the order. Think what Redbull where like at the start of the year, they had optimum downforce for running in clear air which is what they where used to doing.
