I'll admit that I saw most of a Harry Potter film a couple weeks ago. I missed the start but the plot wasn't exactly difficult to work out. As I suspected, it was utter tosh!

It changes all the time but..

1. The Shawshank Redemption (only film that ever lived up to the book).
2. Dumb and Dumber (just because my whole immediate family knows it off by heart, we quote it often, Flo).
3. Blade Runner
4. Sleepless in Seattle
5. The new Batman franchise
6. Ronin (best car-chase scene ever).
7. The Italian Job (original).
8. Signs
9. All of the Bourne movies
1o. Knocked up

^^^Signs is amazing and could easily have been in my top 10 except I was trying to limit one film per director. I love Shyamalan's films.

Not just suspense, but dialog, themes, and character development all rolled into one... nobody does it better in my opinion. Lady in the Water is another great one.

He had a film called Devil last year, it was about 62 minutes long, but it was great, 5 people in an elevator one is the devil in human form, the backdrop is a nightime/storm gotham city (in say 2008 batman film) gothic feel to it, and in this elevator one by one people die as the lights go off, leaving two left at knifepoint convinced the other is the devil, anyway lights go out again and the woman left is dead, one is left, he sobs on the floor crying and in possibly the scariest film moment ive seen in my life or creepiest rather the old woman who died right as the start rises up from the floor from a still camera pan, i shat my panties i tell ya.

No, just don't find the prospect of 62 minutes of lift footage an entertaining prospect.

youll never know if your presumption is correct.

I know people like to hate on him, and I strongly disagree. My theory is that, due to the wild popularity of The Sixth Sense, most people only see his movies as "twist ending" vehicles, when there is so much more. Also, it didn't help that The Village (directly following Signs) was severely mis-marketed as a thriller, when it was more of a love story.
