Nationality means nothing to me but I don't want Todt as president because of his former ties to Ferrari and his comments about continuing Mosley's good work is disturbing. Vatanen would be the perfect solution as he has no current or past affiliation to Formula 1, the FIA is more than just Formula 1's governing body! If Todt becomes president expect more political bullsh*t over the next few years because none of the teams want him.

"Political minefield headless!"

Perhaps that is why he has 'headless' as a handle!

Personally, I would vote for Frost. We have had enough of British heads of FIA

from a Froggy

Hehe, I love your gamesmanship.
Good to see.
Jack Frost as the FIA boss?
He'd do ok I guess! :hehe:

Frankly, I think the most important element is that the new president should not have been in an F1 management position. An ex driver would be OK but I would prefer a person who had been in an other arena of FIA activities.

A good grasp of English (for sure) is also an essential in my view as sadly, (well I would say that) French is no longer the international language.

PS previous membership or family connections with faschist parties would not be helpful

when was it? :hehe:

FIA is originally a French institution, so their language should be French. But English is much better 8-)

BTW, im really happy, that Mosley is leaving. If you look, at what he commited over the last few years, you dont really find much good. He almost ruined F1, and his resignation is the only point. I guess, that the resignation itself, was the most inteligent thing, that he did, over his long rule in FIA :D:D

During one of those "French Military Victories". :hehe:

If we are to start getting personal about countries, I can also do it.

Firstly, French was spoken by the ruling classes in the UK until relatively recently and equally it was the world diplomatic language. The FIA was indeed French too.

With regard to French military victories, at least in recent years, France has not taken part in illegal military campaigns such as Iraq. In France, we have more imaginative ways of enjoying ourselves rather than killing off our young folk.

Of course the FIA is a French institution by location - but it is meant for international purposes. That is why we have a Finn running for office, a current British President and a host of other nationalities in various other positions.
Your French motorsport is for the FFSA to deal with (who appear to care little about holding on to their GP)
And seeing as English is the national language it is only right that it is spoken in international institutions.

Illegal wars or not, all nations of power do it. As DD pointed out the French did it in Africa and long long before that, even when us Brits spoke French :hehe:

And as for the ruling classes. We ended all of that when those Jacobite Stuarts got the push. WOOP the Glorious Revolution. Woop the Hanoverian dynasty!

In 1762 you were kicked out of Quebec. That was the end. The English language became the dominant spoken tongue. Whether it should have happened is for another time and another place. What happened, happened.

C'est la vie.
