The budget cap does not allow for innovation. The regulations would still be far too restrictive.
The only thing that will save Formula One is allowing teams to be innovative.
Which is why I like the budget cap idea because it allows for that innovation. With unlimited budgets the FIA clamp down on any innovation or other teams complain about new innovations like the Brawn double diffuser this year and it normally get banned. Personally I would like a roll back to the early 90s rules and regulations as that's when racing was at it's best and before all the FIA's pointless regulations to slow cars down which has diluted the spirit of F1; I firmly believe that the budget cap with it's technical freedom is the way to get back to those days!
