cost is not a barrier I fact circuit owners would be lining up as no doubt FOTA would offer cheaper deals!

But there's no point arguing with fanboys when theo argument is based soley on what they wish and not what is possible!

Good on ya

Cost is very much an issue. Seeing as the teams currently feel that they are spending too much money developing cars, I fail to see how the people in charge of the money would justify hundreds of millions on top of that to establish a breakaway series, set up all the necessary parts of the organisation to run the series, negotiate contracts with circuits and television companies, work out logistical issues, form sporting and technical regulations, pay for marshalling and stewarding and hire all the lawyers necessary for undertaking a project of this size. There are numerous other costs that could be listed, but these alone would be fairly expensive without the FIA and FOM dealing with some of the costing.

Time is an even bigger issue. They would have only nine and a half months to sort everything out in full before next season. That's a very tight deadline considering they would be starting from scratch.

youre only looking at the initial outlay! without FOM, FOTA will get more back for their investment!

and Denthul marshalling and stewarding is all done by volunteers with the FIA so why should that change? look i know you guys dont want to see a break away but that doesnt mean its not going to happen nor does it mean its too hard for FOTA to make happen.

It comes down to Lawyers for negotiating TV and Circuit contacts then ex drivers and engineers for technical regs but that could be done within fota itself.

There's alot of intial cost but i expect the tv and circuits would be willing and waiting to sign.

And the teams would be able to skip the middleman and negotiaite a much better deal with revune from tv etc. comming directly to them.

Not saying it wouldn't be a mission to setup but after its done the teams would be much more secure financialy than they could be with ecclestone.

Looks like this is is an entirely academic debate now anyway, we seem to be heading towards a more desirable outcome in which F1 remains intact.

Which, let's face it, was always the highly likely outcome.

Smug? Hahaha

It's merely what i think would have been the likely outcome all along.

I was talking about this with a mate today,
and he said "Well, what else do you expect? Ferrari IS Formula One. Of course they'd have a say. If the other teams don't like it, tell them to go and start another sport."

I still think it's unfair.
Like...really unfair.

Did you even read what I said, or do you just scan posts for keywords and then launch into attacks?

Ah, I see, back to your traditional "not answer the question, just accuse the other party of being a jerk" tactic.

Well whatever bud. I see no point in arguing with you, because you have sufficient self-righteous indignation to make it go on long after I've already made my point perfectly clear (Which I, in fact, already did, so even this is too long).

But I'll extend you the courtesy you never show me (Or several other people actually) and I'll address your actual post.

I don't have a problem, other than you having a go at people for having an opinion you do not share. No, I'm not attacking anyone, it's perfectly clear that that is you. You're the one resorting to name-calling and profanity.

Feel free to post some high and mighty bull crap about how I'm "a kid" and insolent or some kind of A hole or something. Don't be afraid to lace it with your usual dose of profanity, name-calling and factual inaccuracies. I won't be reading it, because with your comment here
oh shut up would you, you bloody sook! how was i insulting Scotty? i said smug as in thinking everything was all hunky dory now!

you have solidified my impression that you're not paying sufficient attention to warrant mine.

:wavey: See ya. Or, preferably, not.
