I gotta say that I enjoy reading some of the America bashing in this thread. Cracks me up.

Yes, yes... America Sucks. Americans are fat dumb rednecks. They drink bad beer and think it's good. They eat at McDonalds and get fat fat fat. They don't know where France is on a map and don't care. They can't even understand driving in a circle with some left and right turns thrown in, as opposed to always turning left. They need to be shunned because they like watching other forms of racing. Americans are wealthy rednecks and we hate them.:rofl:

Yes, America may be a poophole. But, I'd still rather live here than anywhere else in the world. :D

As for F1 in America, the fact that there's a crap open wheel series here in Indycar, no F1 races here and F1's apparent lack of interest in holding races here means that it's a niche sport. I may be willing to wake up at 3AM to watch an F1 race, but not many others are.

If F1 teams used what people from Europe actually drive, it would be something like this:

:hehe:

It's Ralf's 2010 drive! :hehe:

It's the new Bernie E Spec F1 car under the budget cap. They're calling it the "BS F1" Kers was deemed to expensive so that's out, and the same goes for gas powered engines and suspensions. The BS F1 therefore becomes a real battle of driver's Fitness and Talent and will stop the age old argument "place the driver's name with the most points here is only fast because his cars fast"

Ignorant--okay majority rules. But the fact is America has squandered every chance it has had at meaningful racing. The demise of CART was a real travesty, the non-attendance at Indy F1, even when ticket prices were held ridiculously low, was a complete embarrassment. Ever check out the 12 Hours of Sebring--can you 5,000 people? That the most popular form of racing is a lousy spec-car series where people take turns at the front in order to create false drama. I'd say there's alot of ignorance going around. And while I might indeed be dreck I will never attack another forum participant personally.

And Man U 2-nil. Ouch, but pretty dead on. :)

Your glass seems to be half empty mate and not half full. Enjoy what we have and not what we have missed over something we have no control over it.

Actually, my tone really was over the top. Sometimes, as an American F1 fan, it's so frustrating--the lack of coverage, the looks you get from others. They really think you're nuts. Sorry if I offended, just vented a bit too much. I need a :drink:

Lousy spec car racing? False drama? Take turns at the front??

I'm offended. Tex, did he or did not just call GT racing spec? I can't decide whether he deserves to be shot or castrated. Tex...break out the hammer man...you know the one I mean. Just start swingin that thang around until it hits him somewhere....preferably someplace dangly.

5000 people? Have you ever been there? For the record, here is a quote about Sebring's attendance this year:

the event posted a four-day attendance of more than 164,000 spectators, second only to 2008's record crowd and virtually the same as 2007.

That is 164,000 fans who did not sit in cushy air conditioned boxes ignoring the race until the last few minutes. That's 164,000 racing fans in one weekend....in the middle of nowhere florida. Sebring is 2 hours from anywhere resembling civilization and still brings in those crowds. If you have never driven Sebring, you are missing out on one of the more fun tracks to play on. Ok, Road Atlanta is certainly more fun, hell so is Homestead in my mind...but there is something very special about Sebring. The place is a mecca of racing...every american race fan should spend at least one weekend worshiping at the Altar that is Sebring, Florida. Amen.
