Ferrari has received a lifetime ban from USADA.
This is such a sordid affair, it makes me :vomit:

So when Ferrari moves into bikes manufacturing, they can never supply them for competitions under USADA?

Do you not think he cheated with drugs and blood transfusions then?

I wondered what Ferrari had done to get themselves involved here :hehe:

It's old news, UCI being drawn into this by possibly knowing and covering up his test results might lead to the world cycling governing body being disbanded and cycling removed from the Olympics.
This is far more important for the future of all forms of cycling.

Ferrari is the surname of an Italian Dr.

Yeah I realised he was the doctor when I read the article, didnt know beforehand, and thought Ferrari had got themselves involved. :P
I think the reason it's dragging on is because he won't admit it.

The cycling world has been in such a mess lately. It'll pull through though.

No, don't think so.

Well, Bradley Wiggins caused quite a sensation in the UK, and was the most recent winner of the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award, held not that long ago. So there is hope!

I don't think it's fair to say the sport will be severely damaged in the long-run, surely? That's what people said about F1 after Indy 2005.

And what if they find out that Wiggins also used illegal stuff in, let's say, 5 years? What then?

That's the issues, that everyone is suspect and I do believe that the sport today is cleaner, much cleaner. The fact that we're seeing many more people crack on the superhuman stages, people struggle is the most indicative sign that the sport is cleaner. But Wiggins doesn't have to dope in order to have an advantage, your team mates pull you so it's indirect but an advantage none the less.

I love the sport, I've loved it longer than I have had a passion for F1, but drugs have always been a part of it, whether it was visible or not, publicized or not.

One thing that has interested me is France having a very difficult time over the last decade or more with their riders not being able to do well in the Tour. It's no coincidence that France has the toughest drug policy of any nation, so their riders have been competing clean for the most part, and riding against dopes riders so the performance gap was no surprise.

Last year the French did better in the TDF than they had in a long long time, they were finally competitive and I take that as a good sign.
