I'd also lie to add Taken to my fave film list

:thumbup::thumbup: Love that movie.

Saw the Hurt Locker the other day, dumb movie. BTW has anyone else seen the first episode of The Pacific?

I have not seen Taken yet but really like Liam Neeson. The reviews I read on The Hurt Locker were pretty good yet I have not seen that one either.

Saw Taken last night. It was great! You would love it Tex.

I have tried endlessly to get my friends/relatives to watch Pans Labyrinth and they won't budge. They don't know what they're missing, amazing film

...Not that the Godfather isn't, but it gets enough praise, usually also from me.

Not favourite movies, but a few movies I have to watch atm, watched district 9 last night, quite good in a wierd sci-fi way but with annoying camera movement I'm not too keen on though watchable. Tonight, I'm about to watch the fourth kind which I'm not too hopeful about but I'll see how it goes.

Agreed. Should've put those in my rather hastily assembled top-10. The films are great. The (adult) actors even more so.

Harry Potter is bad enough but Vanilla Sky?! That was the worst piece of crap I have ever endured!

LOL, i love films that make you think dude, nothing better then a film like that,

Mind you i did have to wikipedia the plot afterwards

Focus on the other ones, surely youve seen Spirited Away, Dirty Harry, Schindlers List, amazingness.

Top 10 in no particular order,

1. The Seventh Seal
2. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
3. Oldboy,
4. Fearless
5. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
6. Great Expectations
7. The Star Wars Trilogy (original three, don't hate the prequels though)
8. The Godfather (Part 1 only)
9. Zatoichi
10. Kingdom of Heaven

Think there are other films I just can't remember now that should replace some on the list.

I've seen a lot of very good films on film4, they show some real quality films in the slot after the 9pm film from time to time. That's where I got to see the Seventh Seal, Oldboy and Zatoichi.

Ah Vaptin CTHD is a immense film. But i love House of Flying Daggers even more, infact thats one of the beautiful thought provoking ones, might make that number 11.

:ranting:

Films likes and dislikes are probably more personal than even books, but I really don't like House of Flying Daggers, it's superficial to me. Looks nice, but the plot just doesn't work and feels like stuff just suddenly happens.

Have you seen Hero, what did you make of that?

Aaand - What's with the Harry Potter films, I don't think their bad films, fair enough liking them, but why are they so great?

Don't tell me the Hobbit's already been released

Liking the Harry Potter films has a lot to do with reading the books, ive read all the books, taking days and days in total reading hours, the films are just the visual perception of great books, also with bits like the death eater vs auror fight scene in order of the phoenix its so amazing, others can probably explain better.

I put Quadrology for LOTR cause we all know tis going to kick teeth in with its awesomeness.

Youll have to remind me the plot of hero for me to know if ive seen it, might wiki it now, and why the angry face, you hate harry potter that much
