Earlier in this thread someone wrote, "So, what does Ecclestone know about USF1 that we don't." In one word, Qadbak. Around the same time Qadbak purchased BMW-Sauber, Max and Bernie start spreading disinformation about the viability of USF1 team. FOTA is unlikely to vote a 14th team in for 2010, so what is their motive. The only way to get Qadbak-Sauber to grid in 2010 is trying to oust USF1. As usual, follow the money, in this case Qadbak money. The FIA visit confirms USF1 is on track for 2010.

USF1 was always going to be on the grid as they are much more advanced that any other of the new teams as the USF1 project has been in the pipeline for a couple of years.

Just out of interest; I read that FOTA had voted against a 14th team; do we know what teams voted against a 14th team? I would find it ironic if it was Ferrari after their ludicrous idea of having each team run a third car, 28 cars is bad; but 39 cars is absolutely fine!

If I recall correctly both BMW and Williams were against it, I cant be bothered to hunt down where I read this but I am sure both teams were named.

You have the FIA president and head of FOM spreading false and libelous rumors about USF1, and what is their motive. Do you think this could harm sponsorship agreements or deter potential sponsors away from USF1. Bernie and Max are spoon-feeding all of you bull*hit and you go and bash USF1. This smear campaign was about ousting USF1 and making room for Qadbak-Sauber.

Qadbak shouldn't be allowed on the grid, if what i've read about their involvement in various other F1 teams is true. USF1 will ultimately be good for the sport imo, so i wish them the best of luck.

I think thats more this guy called Russell King http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns21868.html

Dodgy character, faking the theft of a Aston Martin, why not just sell it idiot.

That's part of it, but i think some of the members own/have stakes in other businesses with F1 connections, for example Mubadala, who own 5% of Ferrari's shares. Conflict of interest much? They have links to other teams too, i can't remember who at the moment though.

Who's bashing USF1; I certainly haven't bashed them in any way! I find it amusing that BMW blocked the 14th team given that it's effectively the team they have just offloaded to Qadbak; Williams are disagreeing with everything it seems, I'm kinda surprised a that a newcomer, Campos are disagreeing with a 14th team!

Doesn't Dietrich Mateschitz have to ditch/sell one of his teams by the beginning of next season?

BMW didnt block a 14th team though. and no he doesnt have to sell but they (STR) have to design and build their own car.

OK, I was just going on what Jim Riven said about BMW as I haven't read anything official about who blocked the 14th team.

I read an article much earlier in the year, on Autosport I believe, that he had to sell because of anti-competition rules.
