The real vilians are Briatore and Symond, every once of respect I had for them has no gone!!!

Could you still respect a man who knowingly endangered his own life, the life of other drivers as well as spectators and marshals?

Personally folks I think we are being a bit unfair to Piquet, yes he did crash the car and he shouldn't have, but I suppose he may have felt that he did not have any other option??? Maybe he thought if I crash this car, then I will prove that I am willing to do anything to stay in renault, and maybe he thought they would give him a better car and maybe even he might have shown his worth to the team, via his own performance???

You have got to realise that Drivers are under imense pressure, from management, sponsors even fans!!!

I doubt that we will EVER see Piquet in an F1 car again which is ultimately sad tbh...

What about the blackmail?

Well he blackmailed concerning an illegal action for his own gain, I'm not sure what he's gone an inflicted on renault since it was their fault anyway. It could just go down against piquet for only owning up when he did.

i still think he looks better now that it is true, he is a cheat yes. a liar, no. still don't think anyone will take the risk with him now, you might with a blindingly quick driver but piquet always struck me as distinctly average anyway.

I think that when the dust settles Piquet could find his way back with one of the four new teams, but I doubt it'll be 2010/11. I'm inclined to believe that his performances have been poor because he had substandard equipment compared to his team mate. And the revelations that has come out about how Piquet was given an option contract. I believe that Piquet felt the only way he would have a race seat in 2009 was to comply with his bosses wishes. I can't blame him for doing what he thought was best for his future!

In 2008 his equipment was equal.

I can't comment on his 2008 equipment as I really don't know much about the policies of the Renault team apart from race-fix-gate so I can't argue that point. But I ask you this; was Piquet getting the same level of support from the engineers and team leaders as Alonso? I seriously doubt that was the case, especially with Alonso as his team mate!

That happens up and down the paddock though.
Take this year, despite working hard I doubt McLaren will have given Heikki Kovalainen the same amount of help as Lewis - Lewis became their leader almost during the slump.

They've all three had their "Pee Wee Herman" moment in public.

That is probably true (although I doubt to the extent of the Renault situation) but look at the effect that has had on Kovalainen during this season, it speaks for itself!

I heard through the grapevine that NPjr is now a migrant farm worker somewhere down in South America? :P

I can't agree with that at all. Yes, he is a cheat and he most certainly is a liar, as well as a vengeful backstabbing ungrateful git. He didn't tell about the crash because of some inward drive to tell the truth, he opened his mouth in order to hurt the team that sacked him. Prior to that he had been lying for quite a long time about the accident. The team gave him a seat in an F1 car....and he sucked....and then he betrayed them for no other reason than he wanted to hurt them for sacking him. The man is a waste of human tissue. I hope he never drives another race car in his life. Yes, Renault was certainly wrong and I feel equally mad at Flav and his flunky but Piquet is no less of a dirtbag in my eyes....more of one in fact since he is the one who actually crashed the car.
