i do like his character now, i would happily sit down with him with a cool beer and a Burger King in the other hand

Hammy FTW :wine:

He's the same character. He's a little more experienced and under less pressure but he's the same guy.

Right, but....For example, in the past, he went in an interview boasting that nobody overtakes him around the outside. Now, he conducts interviews and so on with a cheerful and relaxed, much more humble, manner. He's much more likable now.

The only good thing that can come out of this season for lewis is he does not have the pressure he has had over the last two years .... the sign of a great champion is how he comes back next season and he seems quite focused now,, a few weeks ago he was very frustated but now is back in his zone again......last season british champ this season looks like another british champ as i cant see button gretting caught and i think lewis will be at his strongest next season.....
looks like it could be 3 in a row.... i think lewis and either massa or kimi will also get 1 win this season as all teams have a little slip during a season and upto now brawn have had everythink fall into place.... a nice downpour in the UK , Begium and Italy show make for good races..........................sorry i am going on a bit i think the vino is taking its toll

He's the same guy, he was always likeable. He was just over exuberant ,fired up and not used to thinking how things might sound before he spoke. A little naive but not what a lot of people took him to be.

Yeah, but how likable someone is is different for different people. Lewis's attitude, particularly to his peers, was very off-putting for some of us. He's stopped being so arrogant and flippant now, so his likability for us has increased.

he had every reason to be arrogant ( if that how people took it) in the last 2 seasons he was the most exciting thing to happen to the sport since the great MS.... all great champions in all sport are arrogant to a point thats one of the reasons the get to were they are arrogant and confident are not that much different really

 Supreme confidence is necessary. lewis was not good at putting on another face. He just said it as he saw it. He's learning he has to play political games. If thats what folk like so be it.

In this case I would have to agree with you, unfortunately I cannot agree with you RC. Lewis used to be top of the world and I can see why he would be the way he used to be, but in the case of his character now, I fully support him and hope he wins! In the past he proved not to be likable. Now he is professional and likable! As us guys say to woman, you should smile more, that’s what Lewis should do, and he is doing! His attitude is awesome and professional! I like him now. Jenson has just always been likable though

Arrogance is never a good thing. Supreme confidence is good, arrogance is when your confidence goes beyond reasonable levels. Schumacher was often arrogant, but he was often driving flawlessly and had the decency to keep his mouth shut most of the time. The trouble Lewis had was he was always letting morons like Steve Rider interview him and running his mouth off about his competitors. It's more the media's fault than it is Lewis's, but nothing gives you the right to assert your superiority over your peers with nothing to back it up (I'm looking at you Piquet Jr.).
