Manor Motorsport

I'd quite like to hear the FIA's reason behind these entries. Simply because I see Manor as being a team who languish at the back of the grid for many years until they go bankrupt.

These two teams, Campos and Manor have not got much time to prepare for 2010. Within about 8 months they need to set up a factory, set up a team to build and design a car, get drivers, and be ready to go test come February. I personally wouldn't be surprised if these teams don't even turn up next year, or if they're 2 seconds of the pace.

Why are Ferrari & the Red Bull Teams no longer listed as conditional entries?

Like Williams and Force India, they signed a contract in 2005 that means they must race in 2010 (and maybe as far as 2012?).

Thanks for clearing that up. Just had a read of this: http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/n ... 5930.shtml

Perhaps somewhere on this board this has been answered...if so I have missed it and indulge me by answering it again please.

If Ferrari's entry is no longer conditional because their contract obliges them until whatever year, then I believe that contract also gives them veto power over the technical regs...so they veto the spending cap and we're off to the races right? I have not had the time lately to keep up with the current drama fest.

bill it does your head in trying to keep up with these melodramatic fools running the show!

but i am going to enter a budget capped F1, once the fota teams start their own series the FIA will let anyone enter! so the team will be BudGP im hoping to get Budweiser onboard as a title sponsor! anyone got 47 mil i can borrow?

PS: To be honest, image an F1 championship without Mclaren, Ferrari or Renault?!

it would then fail to be an F1 IMO, F1 should be the cutting edge the pinnacle of all motorsport so to speak, without having the best/biggest teams involved in this and it would probably loose its sense of appeal to some

Yeah I agree IMH

I would have thought so. The FIA want it both ways!!

I'm happy that Campos has an entry. They have ran very strongly in GP2, and as Spain seems to be an ever expanding market for F1, it is no surprise that there is a Spanish team.

Manor is a surprise, but a very pleasant one at that.
USF1 isn't a surprise in the slightest.

I suspect there may be a few casualties along the way, as people have already eluded to - Toyota... Renault :(...

Lola and Prodrive will be waiting in the wings...

Expected usf1 but who are the other 2.

A couple of teams graduating from junior categories.

A little bummed that ProDrive/Aston Martin wasn't given a spot. It seemed virtually guaranteed

I'm actually quite excited by the new teams. USF1 could help get another F1 race in the US, and even bring back Canada.
It will be interesing to see how Campos make the transistion, from junior formula.
Manor coming from no where, but with their HUGE history, could they bring in a new age of Constructors

I was surprised that Campos got the nod, but also disappointed that Lola didn't get a look in. Maybe that will change if one or more of the current teams doesn't compete next year?
