The thing that really annoys me is that Mosely knows the teams will budget cap, just that they cannot do it the way he wants and he will not compromise. He is prepared to Piss F1 down the drain rather than give up his tyrannical, dictatorship. He has a personality flaw and is very clever with it and F1 is looking like getting screwed because of it!

Best option- F1 remains as it is but Max Mosely is removed and a normal person(also clever) replaces him and reforms the FIA.

Next best option-Breakaway. Someone with F1 know how(Jackie/Hill/Lauda/Schekter) fronts it instead of Bernie but its backed up by Lawyers, business guys etc. There are enough venues available around the world to run it.

Worst option.-F1 remains in the grasp of an egotistical power crazed misfit who should have been removed when he paid more attention to baring his arse to prostitutes than to properly governing F1. (thats not to mention witch hunting, back handers, golden handshakes) SKUM.

Even the best option is not attractive, with the huge debt and interest payment FOM (CVC) is saddled with. The only way F1 teams can regain control F1 is to leave F1. Cause Bernie and CVC to fall on their arse and default on loans, leaving Bank of England holding rights to paper. New teams in a generic F1, IMO couldn't generate the revenue to repay CVC loans. Breakaway seems to be possible and who is to say Bernie would get all new teams to run in F1, some might want to run with the big boys.

Yes you're right. Ive revised my opinion , posted it on another thread. They need shot of Bernie , Max and the huge payments to CVC. Then the need for budget capping need not be so drastic and so quick because the teams will get the revenue. Id overlooked the money drain situation which will remain as long as CVC own it. Breakaway looks more attractive every day!

Would a breakaway series still be under control of the FIA. Today Max is Saying "if they did a breakaway, they could write their own rules and we check them over for safety. And that would be it." Isn't Max being a little presumptuous with his authority. The FIA's stature should be reduced to that as the "Guinness Book Of Racing", record keeping only.

And if FOTA had any sense they'd certainly not run it under FIA. Set up their own with procedures in place to stop the corruption that pervades the FIA from ever getting a foothold.

I think it would be quite hard to get the necessary permissions and licensing for FOTA to govern safety aspects within the EU. After all, the FIA is there for a reason and is, as far as I'm aware, EU-sanctioned. They can set up stewarding, courts of appeal etc. as well as they like, but safety is always the most important aspect to be considered. Are there any other major motorsport governing bodies in Europe?

All they would have to do is go to Sir Jackie Strewart ask him if he would head a safty and rules organization to enforce ONLY not govern F1.

He'd no doubt do it since hes a ledge and hates the FIA.

Few other ex strewards and drivers etc.. job done A1 GP as Bud says there's nothing to stop FOTA doing it.

Futhermore Mosley has said he would help with a breakaway - their rules the FIA govern and sort out the safty.

MM can FRO

In terms of a breakaway series actually happening, that would likely be the best possible scenario. The FIA's safety standards are pretty good and their tests are well-designed.

i wouldn't mind if F1 was like that now, infact thats how F1 should be.

FIA Safty and Refering only the engineers, designers in the team themself know how to make the sport intresting and practical for the automobile indrusty also since many of the teams are directly linked with it.

I just thought of a very interesting consequence or plan this is theoretical but if 4 or 5 teams did not enter before the deadline then all but one slot was filled by new teams but Ferrari get that last slot then Ferrari would have far less competition and could make a lot of gains if other more experienced teams were replaced with new ones. Obviously this is probably not there intention at all but it could happen!
