i don't mind the silver

Silver = Germany as Red = Italy and Green Britain etc. Sooner or later Mercedes oops I meant Ex-McLaren will be all SILVER.

For the sake of some of the less knowledgeable forum viewers, I should point out that silver was NEVER the racing colour allocated to Germany. The racing colours emerged out of the Gordon Bennett races of the early 1900s, where Germany was allocated the colour white, as you can see from this 1909 "Blitzen" Benz speed record car:

Britain chose green in honour of the Irish hosts of the British round and because red (Italy), white (Germany) and blue (France) had already been taken. Mercedes moved to silver only when it was discovered at one race in 1934 that under the maximum weight formula that had been introduced that year their car was ever so slightly too heavy, whereupon they decided to strip away the white paint (which at the time contained lead as an ingredient) to reveal the bare metal underneath and bring their car under the weight limit. BMW, you will note, still carry the proper racing colour of Germany.
