I remember Servia's flip, tht was crazy like. Do you think that was the last great CART season?
I thought Brack had tht year tbh, but De Ferran showed his hand, was great!

Mind you, Long Beach 98 for example

That was a damn good race. Gil de Ferran was my favorite CART driver and I really wanted him to win, but it was great to see Zanardi upset Herta...again. lol

Gil De Ferran Rockingham 01?
Enough said

I went to that race did you? Didnt think it was actually going to get started! They had those massive hairdryer machines trying to dry the track
(and Juan was in the pits  )

U really like JPM don't you... like REALLY :P?

Sadly I didn't get to go to that race. I think its sad that Rockingham is hardly used for that purpose anymore, it has great facilities. I think Williams tested at it a few years ago. I hpe Indy Car grows again, maybe they will come back and use Rockingham and the Eurospeedway, that would be good.

Yeah I think 01 was the last great CART year. To me it seemed like everything went downhill when Team Penske left for the IRL in 02, then Ganassi/Target racing in 03, then pretty much all the great teams followed into the IRL.

Last years Champ Car season I thought was pretty good. It was great seeing Doornbos challenging against Bourdais, and the new car made it even more exciting. :)

Yeah, ur right there. I think its a shame they called it a day tbh. I mean I think the likes of Doornbos and Wilson fighting for the title would be great to see. You see the problem I have with the IRL, is that I find it hard to get into. For me, it's weird seeing Penske and Chip in the IRL, to me they just seem part of CARTS legacy. Certainly that's when things went down hill :(

Went down hill when Juan crossed the pond!:lol::lol:

Perfectly understandable fetish in my opinion :P

And agree with whoever said its a shame Rockinghame isnt used , it was a great track and the view from the grandstand excellent-could see the whole track!

See i made the argument ages ago that F1 should consider racing there as a last resort if Silverstone didn't meet the requirements. However the infield section isn't good enough. Never is on Ovals, i wonder why that is? Not enough ground, or natural gradiants.

Fetish :S yep JPM...

Its too small- the infield I mean, cos it has to squeeze inside the oval. Ive driven round it in a mini car, felt fast to me tho! I overtook a Ferrari...theyre sooooo over rated!:lol::wink:

Haha, how fast was the Ferrari going? How fast you reach?
Rockingham cool like though. Like the oval to, its different in terms of shape to conventional ones.

The Ferrari couldn't corner on the twisty track, the mini was like it was on rails, and i had a racing driver next to me telling me when to turn in and when to floor it. Dont know how fast I was going, too busy driving it :lol: . But it squealed round the corners-that was cool! Overtook a BMW(M3 would it be?) as well.
