Not FIA standard (unless you mean the steel itself), but leave door open for development in engineering.

If cost is that much of an issue, then surely it's more logical to merely switch to a much cheaper and more durable material?
It's more to do with the development of new materials than the cost of manufacture, but yeah i agree give the cars all FIA standard steel brakes and see what happens would be interesting!
