At times our mods speak about respect and yet allow the use of the word prick in this thread as if it's a compliment. On top of that, Bud calls another member small minded, which has to be the single largest case of pot meets kettle that has ever been expressed on the internet. This forum can certainly be entertaining at times!
Back on topic. I read the Hughes article and if it didn't have his name on it I would never have believed it was him. A good read, but I have to wonder if he knows that the biased press that he was speaking of very much includes himself....well normally. When he's off his meds perhaps.
Since Bill is on topic I'll take it from there.
But first to clear up use of the word "prick". It was not used against a member of the forum, that is where we expect respect, respect of other peoples views and opnions. As a word in itself if it is not allowed it will be picked up by the swear filter.
Hi RC, sorry but I really have to disagree with you here. I was given a warning for using the word looser (misspelled) in reference to a driver. My word passed the swear filter and was not directed at a member. It was claimed by a mod only yesterday that the rules are clear and consistent, yet this clearly far from the case. Bill has a very valid point.
They are clear and consistent to the best of the mods abilities... not everyone is here all of the time, and not everyone is able to read every post. But since you bring that up, the community itself can decide often times more consistently since the moderators bring with them their own POV. Every moderator is approachable. By clear, and consistent I mean personal attacks against a forum member and that should not waiver. There is humor and there is jest, but we all tend to know when a line is crossed and that line is different for everyone, which is why there is a perception of inconsistency.
We can go forward, or we can endlessly bicker on what's been done in the past and it's nice that everyone seems to be making an attempt at bettering our social relationships here.
