On first glance i thought 'this makes that Ferrari look a year old already', but there's more similarities on closer inspection (been sat comparing for the last 15 minutes at least :hehe: ). The McLaren is essentially just more sculpted around the back end and has a more complex front wing arrangement. Looks fast though... Also i dunno if it's just the pictures but that 2010 McLaren has a loooooong wheelbase...

It's long but it also has a narrow body which is good for aero efficiency. The Ferrari looks really under developed compared to the McLaren I really wasn't expecting it to be so far advanced just look how complex that front wing arrangement is and the sculpturing of the engine cover.

[edit]
just to show how narrow it is Image

But would that long narrow body make it bad at a track like Monaco?

Narrow body wouldn't make much difference but a long wheel base makes a real difference i just hope it has a lot of mechanical grip like last year to compensate for the long wheel base. On the upside a long wheel base means greater stability on fast corners and tracks like Spa. The narrow body that gives greater aero efficiency will be very important at high speed tracks like Monza.

Good picture there. :) That front wing as actually way more developed... Although thinner body doesn't automatically mean it's more efficient, cause of the airflow off the front wing and tyres, and then the exposed rear suspension. Also see the detail where the mirrors are and over the top of the sidepods. I think Ferrari have tried to get as much of the weight in the centre of the car as possible (going by the side pods and exhaust location). Argh, bring on Bahrain already! :hehe:

Usually it has a slight adverse effect, yeah. Wouldn't make it outright bad though, obviously. But it'd be way more stable on fast corners.

Some peeps said that ferrari just used last years front wing. I think ferrari have designed their car around maxiusm whatever they were hiding on the back of it. But I don't really know enough to judge cars performances from how they look, can't wait until testing.

Interesting sharkfin though - wonder how that'll work out.

They did i expect them to have a new front wing for testing if they don't then it really suggests to me that they are behind just like when McLaren were using the 08 wing in testing last year.

makes me proud to be British

Here here, proud to be a life long McLaren fan and British. I can't say that i like Jenson Button but today's launch and seeing him along side Lewis gave me much British pride, let's hope the car runs as great as it looks.

It is easily the best i have seen yet.

The British boys are about to bring the freaking pain....
