Well actually Gaz I first heard of Terry Kaby through Jim Bamber's Autosport cartoons when he occasionally puts in a reference to him.

Ive been away so have only just trogged through these replies...some interesting ones, as i thought there might be. Just to clear up any confusion, this is NOT the same list as the drivers voted for when they did the best F! drivers ever. This is the top 50 for 2009 and covers all motorsport. Sorry I cant cut and paste the article , its long and has pictures in it, but I'll post the list. Just to reply to one or two comments:-

Jensnob- you should be pleased because Jenson came 2nd!! And they said that had the list been compled mid season he would have been first- cant understand why you keep saying the Mclaren wasnt bad...it was a dog.........and to those people who saud it was the class of the field at the end of the season WRONG, the red bull and the brawn were still better.

Tex- I saw you looking tired again But fear notJimmie Johnson came 3rd!!

Folks who said Lewis lied, indeed he did ,but this is about who drove the best notwho has the best personality or is best at politics.

Well here's the list. Each driver had a small pioece written about them. Ive done Lewis' since he was first But havent time to do the rest. I'll do requests if anyone is desperate
1. lewis hamilton (From lying in Australia to laying waste to the opposition in Hungary and Singapore, he did it all in a season that ranged from the tumultuous to the terrific. It took until the Nurburgring for McLaren to give hom a car worthy of his talents, after producingan MP4-24 that lacked aerodynamic efficiency and general downforce, and when it did the car was still lacking compared to the Brawn and the red bull. regardless, hamilton buckled down to the performance deficitand, on occassion, simply drove around it-blowing team-mate Kovalainen out of the water. The fighting spirt he showedin adversity has added another string to his bow, just wait until he gets his hands on a decent car again) Couldnt have said it better myself

I don't really believe any of these kinds of lists are relevant or valid, I just don't think a guy who lied to the Stewards and put in the performances Hamilton did in places like China qualifies as the best driver of the season.

That entire list is weird. Mega biased towards all F1 drivers it seems. Rob Huff beats Tarquini, despite Tarquini winning the WTCC and Huff finishing 5th? And McNish is on there ahead of the guys who actually won at Le Mans?

Why's Kubica above Alonso? I mean, Alonso wasn't up to his usual standard, but Kubica was outdone by Heidfeld.

Well I didnt know who he was ! Heres what they said :-
