I think Rubens will go down in history as the new Moss. good and fast but never won the championship.

nah, Moss was the best driver in the world once Fangio retired and he wasn't far off Fangio either. Barichello has never been the best in F1. He's more like a Reuteman or Watson.

He's not the new anyone, he's just Rubens. Every driver's different and they shouldn't be compared like that.

I meant in the terms of never winning a championship

No to mention that Moss has around 1/3 of the points Rubens has got.(Please note that the points system was different)

Yeah that annoys me in the history books.
It looks like Fisichella was miles better than Moss. (on points)
Someone should equalise the historcial points out and give everyone the same system.

And points wise Ralf Schumacher is Williams' "most successful driver". :banghead:

Ralf would have never held a candle to Mansell if he was his team-mate, actually I think even Jean-Louis Schlesser would have outperformed Ralf.

Ralf has won the most grandprixs for Williams since Hill left in 96 and 4 of his 6 seasons at Williams were in the old points system. Ralf carried your f**king team in 99 aswell pal or did you forget that?

Actually if we take Ralf's 99 season in that piece of sh*t car he had he on the current points system since you seem to think his whole Williams career was on it he would have scored 57 points. http://www.formula1.com/results/driver/1999/10.html

To be fair to Ralf, he has put in some great drives over his career, and when he first came onto the scene he looked like a truly brilliant prospect (casing point there is Argentina 1997 - he should have won his 3rd race but for that stupid collision between him and team mate Fisichella)... but i don't think he was ever the same after that huge crash at Indy. I can't believe he's scored more points than any other Williams driver though! That's insane. :hehe: He wasn't even the best Williams driver of the last 10 years, let alone all time. Nowhere near.

Are you Ralf's greatest fan or something?

Ralf was good at first, it was only in 2003 he started to go past his sell-by date. And then he became the embarrasment he is now when he moved to Toyota.

Some of Ralf's wins were lucky, especially when it was Montoya who fell foul of dodgy FIA decisions or the BMW engine conveniently failing.

It was nice to see Ruben's acting like a true sportsman on Sunday when he lost out to the WDC. Congratulations to him for a great second half of the season where he has consistantly outscored JB, but unfortunately it came too late. I would like to see him stay at Brawn for next season but if you believe all the press, this seems increasingly unlikely. I can understand he is in the twylight of his career but with a solid performance taken from much of this season, I can't understand why Ross Brawn would let him go quite yet. One more season with his wealth of experience would put them in good stead IMO..

If he loses the Brawn seat then the other alternative being pushed around is Williams. Seeing as Williams have secured a Cosworth engine package next year, I would be inclined if I was Ruben's to retire on the high of this season as a man who at 37 years of age, pushed for the WDC. Going to Williams now would just provide him with a package where he is fighting for points rather than wins IMO, and surely the draw of staying in F1 now would be to have another pop at the championship? We'll have to wait and see... :)
