So who will Bernie try to sue first?

His hairdresser I hope.
Tell you what would be superb, that would be Ron Dennis resigning from McLaren and becoming the new CEO of the breakaway series

Then he could show Max how it should be run.

it will be luca not ron i expect.

from the FIA-F1 stand point you have to remeber they can still call upon lotus, prodrive, and a couple of others getting up to the same 8 teams FOTA has.

the first battle must be for FOTA to get those teams onboard so they can really overshadow the FIA

The FIA have just released a statement to say that they are disappointed with this action, they say the teams have until this evening to register for next season. It goes onto say that they will release the list of teams for 2010 season tomorrow morning

The FIA putting pressure on FOTA like this just won't work. And what do the FIA do if FOTA refuse to sign by this evenings deadline? It's not like the FIA can then turn round and issue a statement saying they've given FOTA another 48 hours to register for next season as that'll be seen as a complete cave in.

Personally I'm more than pleased with this mornings news of a breakaway series as long as the broadcasting rights don't go to Sky. It has to go to a free-to-air broadcaster and my hope is that the BBC rip up their contract with F1 in favour of the new series.

This is a bittersweet moment. FOTA for years have been pushed around by Max and Bernie and they finally pushed back. However the FOTA series must be on free to air TV even if it makes them a loss at the beginning for it to be successful. On the other hand if they start their new series with with the same amount of crazy spending that caused this breakaway then it won't be very successful.

I wish FOTA every success and I will probably watch both series but which one will be the superior?

Bernie's reaction will be very interesting. If he feels that the money will be going with FOTA will he back the teams? He does not want to be in charge of a glorified A1 GP series. When Max was caught up in the nazi orgy scandal Bernie shoved him under a bus for a time I am sure that he will have no problem ditching him again and following the money trail

Here is an interesting question.

Right now, if your David Richards, and your still looking to enter Prodrive into F1. Shouldn't you be looking at the break-away series right now.

I predict, that if somehow this break-away series goes ahead. The teams that didn't get a spot on the F1 grid, will be looking to the break-away series, rather than the FIA series.

Also, Adam Parr of Williams (a lawyer himself) Says that the deal that ties the teams to F1 till 2012 is air-tight. Meaning there is no chance Williams will jump ship, and that we may be seeing a series with, McLaren and Ferrari, but no Williams.

Williams can if they want tell Max to shove it, ok they are in breach of contract and would get sued - so what. In the whole scheme of things that would be peanuts. If this break-away goes ahead with all the major players leaving, Williams needs to be on that bus. I agree with the comments above about prodrive. I hope they and the others jump aboard. What a bloody mess this sport has become

My Opinion on The

F.O.T.A Super League (my own name for it)

Bud will agree with me on this that is the best news that has happened to F1 since the crappy new cars have come about? In sports Money does count for everything! This season could have seen the Brawn Gp team dominate in such fashion, it could not have for seen it, but it has and F1 is suffering so badly that people are tuning out! But to reach out to the fans, here are a few facts for you what the new league could bring!

· If Brawn join the group? They could still have the funding to be able to be as competitive as this season
· Better cars? More sleek and sexy! I want the big cars? Big engines? F1 is all about Money! It has always been a ridiculous amount of money thrown in the cars? Who cares? That $500 Million dollars they could spend isn’t mine?
· No Cheapo’s! – I want big names with loads of dosh! Max has caused this season to be so dull that I would rather watch a snail race…. If USF1 want to get involved with such :bs: let them, the big teams have big money! Meaning big expensive cars and big expensive drivers
· F1 has always been the pinnacle of single seater racing? We don’t want to make the cars smaller? So FOTA will give us the huge cars with awesome aero! V10 engines! Vroom, Vroom
· Williams F1 – If Williams stick it out they can dominate the New F1! With Force India! While the big boys play with there big toys! In FOTA S.L
· More excitement! 2008 – Best season ever! Now that had big cars? Big names? Loads of cash being spent on the mean machines? 2009 – crappy cars, crappy season, a boring book of a year! So why doesn’t Max see this? FOTA will give us what we want!

Al the facts are there, it’s up to you to see what F1 is becoming? FOTA will give us the fans what we want! We will have everything needed to have our ol’ Lass back of a sexy sport! Rather than this dull season! Jenson winning is great and everything? But where’s the action? Where’s the Hamilton’s and Massa’s? Jenson should be winning! But in a more competitive environment! I want Jenson battling everyone, not just his own strategy! We need a change! And the change is Now!

oh thanks God I am happy now. i am really happy and i am going to be overjoyed if this new series sweeps the so called F1 and bury it into the history.

and what really annoys me is that FIA still says this had to be done "for the best interest of sport" can you believe it? i mean can you REALLY believe it? now according to FIA, two series is better for F1? Max really should have looked at into sports history..not just motorsports. fans from europe might have remember the split in basketball and how it turned out.

and i must say if any of you waits or hopes for a sery without strict restrictions, all that old stuff, forget it. all FOTA teams was willing to reduce the costs and that was what they were doing for last couple of years. it doesnt make sense that they will spend hundreds of millions again. It is FOTA Organization, mainly Ferrari, who will spend that hundreds for advertising and other stuff, not the teams.

and if i was a wearing the shoes of any FOTA management staff, I would be looking for any legal opportunities to take the rights of "Formula 1" brand name from BE or FIA or both. i mean not the commercial rights just the brand name.

this break away was what i was hoping for since the ban on engine development. namely 4 years? but especially after i saw a 2009 car for the first time..

and for the australian gp, i dont think FOTA will be able to make it if they want to race in albert park..

lastly if they can take monaco gp, then it is done!!!
