You're like a dog chasing a car. You'll never catch it and you just wouldn't know what to do with it if you did

You should put Trulli up to third...where he should be
I'll remember that when Lewis gets an unfair penalty.
Trulli thought Hamberger was lettinghim past did he not?
He thought Lewis was slowing down with a problem (which the vast majority of people would assume if the guy in front slowed and moved over). Also, WTF? Hamberger? That's silly, the guy has a name.

But LH admitted that his team told him to slow down and let JT pass because they were afraid about LH having passed JT (who took an agricultural excursion) during the SC period. So LH did and JT overtook.
This is ridiculous: in the future, any driver could try to dupe another driver by slowing down and pretending to have a problem or somtin' and therefore get the other driver in trouble if he takes the bait.

He did , Spa.
(I actually think they should just have put Trulli to 4th, theyre always overzealous)

Oh, he did. But I was looking at it purely from Trulli's perspective. All he saw was a slowing car.You should put Trulli up to third...where he should be

Yes, and you threw a fit over it. And now you're pretty much condoning the same kind of unjust punishment. But of course, it's working in Lewis' favour this time, so you would.

Im not condoning unfairness. Im saying Trulli should have been put to 4th. He overtook under SC so had to go back. Im not sure all the facts are clear about what hapened, Im not sure but Lewis was certainly ahead of trulli BEFORE the Sc. he did not overtake under the safety car. So why would McLaren ask him to give the place back? And then lodge an investigation? that doesnt add up.
Spa was clear cut. unfair. stupid.
Lewis Hamilton has said that McLaren told him to let Jarno Trulli back past after the pair had swapped places under the safety car in Australia.
While the track was under caution Trulli slid wide and onto the grass, so Hamilton was obliged to pass him. Lewis says that the team then asked him to let Trulli back by, presumably because the team feared a penalty.
However after the race it was Trulli who was penalised for passing under yellows, and docked 25s. Because the field was compacted by the safety car finish, the Italian fell right back to 13th, while Lewis took his third place.
However, speaking as he emerged from parc ferme, Lewis told SPEEDtv.com: ‘I was behind Trulli under the safety car, and clearly you’re not allowed to overtake under the safety car. But he went off in the second to last corner, he went wide on the grass, I guess his tyres were cold. And I was forced to go by. I slowed down as much as I could. I was told to let him back past, but I mean... I don’t know if that’s the regulations, and if it isn’t, then I should have really had third.’
In a team statement Trulli corroborated Hamilton’s story by insisting that the McLaren had slowed down and pulled over so dramatically
that Jarno ‘thought he had a problem.’
However, after the two drivers met with the stewards and given their stories the Italian’s view was discounted, and officials apparently came to the conclusion that Lewis had not voluntarily let him by.
It is not normally possible to appeal against such a penalty because a 25s time penalty is the equivalent of a stop and go, and is issued after incidents that take place in the last five laps and which cannot be dealt with in the normal way.
However, Toyota has found a rarely used channel that allows them to appeal via local Clerk of the Course, former F1 driver Tim Schenken, rather than the usual FIA channels. The move has allowed Toyota to buy some time while it considers the matter.
Hamilton meanwhile was satisfied with his day even before he was promoted a place: ‘With the car that we have, to finish fourth is a great achievement. So we’ll take that and move on and try to do better. I couldn’t have been more on the limit I got as much out of it as I could.
McLaren have confirmed that the FIA are examining whether Lewis Hamilton should have been classified as finishing third in the Australian GP after the team accused Jarno Trulli of illegally retaking the position behind the Safety Car.
In an incident missed by the television cameras in the aftermath of Robert Kubica's collision with Seb Vettel, McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh has confirmed that the team believe Trulli should be stripped of his podium position.
"At the end of the race, Trulli fell off the track and went on the grass. Lewis had no option but to carry on and take the position. Trulli then came back on and re-took the position. The FIA is looking at it.
Are you suggesting Mclaren spent a whole lap not realising Lewis had overtaken Trulli??
I say again. Lewis did not overtake when the SC was out, even if Trulli did go off the road, it was a WHOLE LAP before the accident which brought out the safety car. Yes the incident was missed on the camera but lewis was clealy visible on the camera ahead of Trulli 4 laps from the end of the race. The accident didnt happen until 3 laps from the end. So it doesnt make sense! Are you suggesting Mclaren spent a whole lap not realising Lewis had overtaken Trulli??
