I dont mind Montoya, i just think hes a little bit daft in how he values NASCAR above F1, how can constantly turning left be exciting, ill never know.

I'm not a NASCAR fan, but they can get some really close, crazy racing there...

He's never been the sharpest knife in the drawer - right on par with NM...

Oh right! Have you heard him in interviews?? he's there and back before the other guy knows what he's talking about! What he isnt, is someone who will compromise his prinipals or take bullpoo. Thats why he quit. And if NM is Nigel Mansell well fair comparison on exquisite car control...but there it ends :)

Montoya's not even fat :confused:

Er, Yes, he IS fat. Physically fat. By F1 standards he's clinically obese. Look at current F1 drivers they're fantastically fit and very, very trim. With JPM you can see the waddle under his chin jiggle when he talks. That doesn't mean he's a bad person or that there's anything wrong with him for it but in NASCAR theres not nearly the premium put on physical fitness as there is in F1. JPM would really have to buckle down and whip himself into the shape needed to do F1 again. I seriously doubt he could do that much in just one off-season

They used to say that Eddie Irvine was unfit, and said he need to train more. Not long afterwards, they did a fitness test of all the F1 drivers, a test which Irvine was among the top. Just goes to show, don't judge by appearances.

Fitness is only one part of it, back then only MS was really a fitness freak, its certainly different now. Moreover, carrying around extra pounds in F1 means dead-weight in the car and less flexibility with the ballast set-ups.

I'm trying to bash JPM, I'm just saying I don't think this guy
http://blog.al.com/blogoftomorrow/2007/ ... yadega.JPG

would make it in F1 right now. Heck he was getting outpaced by a guy (KR) who got outpaced by the guy (FM ) who came in Second this year. Where would that leave JPM? :)

JPM is just making a all arond decision based on his age and family. Formula 1 won't give him the long term stability that NASCAR offers. Think about it, a sucessful driver in NASCAR can easily have a 20+ year career. While the life of a F1 driver is about half that nowadays and then there is the traveling. JPM has small children that like it in the U.S. (where all there races are held btw) and the F1 lifestyle is too unpredictable to properly raise a family. I wish he was still in F1because he was an awesome talent, but I understand his reasoning behind his decision, like it or not.

Well said Focused :yes::)

Very very awsome talent.

To the guy who said he couldnt even beat KR. I have this to say to you

1. He had a broken shoulder
2. The car was understeery and he likes the car the way Lewis does-oversteery
3. KR was no slouch before he lost interest and got drunk all the time AND he had a car that better suited him than JPM.

JPM was a good driver, i don't you can say he was as good as kimi because Kimi was more consistant and cool headed.

if JPM was just a little more cool headed he would of still been in F1 and proberly a WDC
