thats not sport demure! you dont see this in the V8 Supercars over here you dont see this in NASCAR or CHAMPCAR or IRL

only in Europe! simply pathetic!!!!

ill always have Karting to satisfy my sporting racing thirst! there atleast its pure racing at its best!

Well we are actually touching on a really important issue here Buddly Wuddly. You know I was wondering when you were going to pop your head up, I was having bud withdrawal symptoms.

Back to my point, we are actually highlighting the fundamental issue with F1 today, money.

I never forget what Ken Tyrrel said before his team closed it's doors, "There is something very black and sickening taking over this sport, greed."

Is all this money good for the sport? Can the sport ever be truly impartial with all this cash floating about?

I don't care how big or corrupt the sport gets, I will always watch it. But I like the business side of things as well, I love all the politics and manouvering behind the scenes.

Nobody's asking for this Utopian world you keep telling us we cannot have. The business aspect of things is a part of Formula One, but it's not the majority of Formula One, nor is it meant to be all of Formula One. Like with the FISA-FOCA War, Senna-Prost-Balestre War and McLaren-Ferrari spy scandal, things have got totally out of hand. The flaws in the system have been exposed, again, so it's time to fix them as best as possible.

Oh well that makes it ok then. Let corruption reign :D

It's called looking after your number one customer 8)

well guess it makes anything Ferrari achieves lesser than the rest of the grid huh ;)

So demure your implying the FIA is creating Ferraris success in order to sell sell sell to the majority of Ferrari lambs in the world

thats what ive been saying all along ;) feed the lamb feed it feed it!

Ferrari is an amazing brand. It's has it's roots deep in F1. The Tifosi are passionate.

The masses like to associate with this, when they cheer for Ferrari they like to associate with the brand, the image, the mystique...

This is something the other teams will never succeed in achieving. Ford tried with Jaguar, I remember when Ford came into F1 the boss at the time went to a race and saw the masses flying the prancing horse and said one day he wants everyone to be flying Jaguar flags... LoL, bless him for trying...

Just for another car to compete with Ferrari people will associate that brand with all the wonderful aspects of Ferrari... In many ways Ferrari is what makes F1 sexy...

God Damn it they deserve all the favours they get!!!

Brilliant job on side-stepping the question. Are you a politician?

I feel like I'm in the trenches!!!

I'm not trying to call anyone stupid, I'm just trying to explain there are business decisions taking place that effect what happens for those two hours every 2nd Sunday.

Ron Dennis was the one who introduced me to that concept. I'm sure he said something along those lines as one of his famous quotes...

I personally don't think anything is broken, we just have different players in control then we do 20 years ago. In 20 years time there will be a new set of players in F1 and the people getting the short end of the stick in 20 years time will still be crying foul...

I'm willing to bet if Hamilton won the Drivers Title this year and McLaren won the constructors title this year we wouldn't be having this conversation...

if everyone accepted the world around them and didnt want change we would still be living in caves.

Hey, if we lived in Caves breakfast in bed would be picking my nose and eating it first thing in the morning...

I'm just a realist Bud. I'm sure if the shoe was on the other foot I would be frustrated as well. But it's not, so I'm not...

I have thoroughly enjoyed the debate though and it's opened my eyes to a lot of things I didn't know or previously think of, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one mate.

as ooposed to accepting the FIA's fondness for Ferrari and any punishment McLaren recieved may have been only instigated ONLY due to the above posts in which you say Ferrari sell ?

look at Renaults same breach of 151c

but lets not go into the spy bullpoo all over again huh ;)

You are contradicting yourself there. The system should work no matter what people are involved. That's why there is such a thing is checks and balances, equal share of voting rights etc. enshrined in laws and regulations which aren't easily bent.

Nah, I'm just saying it would be nice to have an impartial governing body, I recognise there are flaws, however I realise it's always going to be this way so I'm accepting it and getting on with my enjoyment of F1.

Mad Max need to go I don't know how he got the job in the first place. Mad Max, want to weaken McLaren car the man is so corrupt, even if you are NOT McLaren fan can't you see this Madman is destroying F1?

Yes it's a governing body and yes it's meant to be impartial, but allow me to let you in on a little secret, it's all about the television money. I'm willing to bet my left testicle Ferrari are getting preferential treatment because over half of the television audience around the world would rather wear a cap with a prancing horse on it before anything else.

Several things. Firstly, I'm well aware of how sport, particularly Formula One, works and am not stupid. Second, other sports have a reasonably high standards of impartiality and don't have several scandals a season about their governing body screwing over teams and competitors. Finally, don't flatter yourself about how popular Ferrari are. The majority of Ferrari flags I've seen waved at Grands Prix have one guy's face on them: Michael Schumacher. Also, most people watching Formula One aren't naive so don't just tune in to see Ferrari and, often, drivers receive most of the fan's support. I'm in the minority in actually supporting a team.
