McLaren are looking like they will throw away the 2012 championship at this rate. Alonso is picking up points at every race while the chasing pack can't seem to string two decent results together.

Feel sorry for Lewis today but imo, he knows he done all he could. If the bloody gearbox breaks, that's the teams problem.

Lewis imo, can still win this championship, but Alonso and Ferrari need a DNF during the run in. Not sure whether it will happen......unless we get Michael on the case. :hehe:

Michael will have to get near Alonso first, then escape quickly when Alonso gets out of the car to smack him.

I didn't mention Massa, he drove crazy! Good result too, considering the first lap puncture,

Interesting race today. Of course, I'm bloody gutted at Hamilton's retirement, especially when he confirmed later that he was only cruising, and the race was firmly under control. Once again, McLaren only get 1 car to the finish, and this is costing them so much in the WCC. FFS!!!!

Jenson seemed to loose performance on his last set of tyres, which put an end to his victory challenge.

Once Hamilton was out, Seb did all he needed to do, but Alonso will also be relieved as, once again, he picks up valuable points in that mediocre Ferrari. Massa did really well today, fighting up the field.

Williams deserve so much more than their points tally suggests, after slumping to 8th in the WCC. Very sad to see. Maybe Force India can haul in Sauber, after the Swiss team had a completely low-key event.

Schumacher's incident harked back to last year's Singapore Grand Prix, and also this year's Spanish Grand Prix. He definitely seems out of sorts lately. Big shout to Paul di Resta, on a stonking drive to 4th, and also to Ricciardo, who dragged that Toro Rosso into the points.

The stewards of the Singapore Grand Prix are investigating an incident between race winner Sebastian Vettel and second place finisher Jenson Button after the pair nearly made contact in the first safety car period.

As the safety car returned to the pits on lap 38 Button came perilously close to Vettel as the Red Bull accelerated hard and then warmed up its brakes. The McLaren just avoided the Red Bull and after the race Button said he had not expected Vettel to jump on the brakes when he did.

"When someone speeds up in the middle of the straight you don't expect them to hit the brakes hard again because we're all gearing up and getting ready behind the car to react to when he goes. It causes a concertina effect and it did with me and I nearly went into the back of him and locked up the fronts. I was lucky to get around the side of him otherwise that might have been quite a disappointing end to the race. ."

Both drivers have been summoned to the stewards.

Hopefully a 5 place grid penalty for Vettel in Suzuka.

Ten place grid penalty for Michael Schumacher for next race, after incident with Vergne.

He needs a retirement penalty...obviously his reaction time is no longer good enough for F1. The old dude might need to move into Nascar/LeMans or something to keep himself entertained.

Rather annoying but hardly surprising. There was word there may have been an issue with the car as it did look a big strange and the man himself said something about hte front end being funny. Have Merc confirmed anything as yet?

Not yet I don't think. The only quotes come from Schumacher:

"I just went straight on the brakes very hard, locked up everything and tried to brake as hard as possible but the accident wasn't avoidable any more," Schumacher said

Caught out with cold brakes I wonder? Ah well it was only Vergne. :hehe:

Stewards say he admitted responsibility.

Err..yeah because there's no way that that incident needed discussion. My point is, this is the 3rd or 4th time he's burying it into someone's rear (pun unintended) like a drunkard behind the wheel. It's too much for a seasoned champion...obviously he's a bit too seasoned for the sport now.

No further action on Vettel / Button, but Senna has a penalty for next race I think too. Still awaiting details.

There was nothing to look at in the Button/Vettel near miss. Button fell asleep but there was no incident so why waste their time?

Good to hear Senna has a penalty. he was driving like a prize pillock at times.
