Looks like this circuit has potential to deliver some good races in the future - although this one wasn't too exciting. The atmosphere looks like it was really good, which was nice to see.

Another pretty flawless drive from Vettel and a good drive by Button as well. Was a bit gutted for Senna - he looked like he was in with a good chance of a few points. I though in his post race interview Hamilton looked more down that we've seen this season. Can't blame him, really. It definitley looked to me like Massa was to blame for today's incident from what they showed on the telly.

Schumacher's race is sadly not being highlighted enough, understandably with the Lewis / Massa incident of course, but I wanted to mention it before anything else. Yet again, Schumi makes up several places off the start line and is substantially ahead of his start position by the end of the race. Got his strategy spot on, slight wobble out of the pits after his last stop, but almost a perfect race from his perspective. Not that I was wishing ill on any other driver, but I have to admit, in the last couple of laps I was thinking 'I wonder if Webber and Alonso might have a minor collision', and that could have promoted Schumacher to a podium that I think he deserves on the balance of his performance this season.

Think I spend most of the races wishing stuff like that. I enjoyed him getting position over Rosberg doing what he always did best, putting in the fast laps before pitting.

We seem to be getting the MSC we want in the last few races. From he returned I have been looking for his experience and racecraft to start paying dividends and it's a joy to see this happening.

In my short tenure watching the sport, I don't believe in racing incidents. Coming from the guy who prefers qually over the races, I'd like to think that Formula One is a gentlemen's sport, in which wheel-to-wheel racing should be encouraged, not wheel to carbon-fiber front/rear wing racing. If someone ruins another driver's race - he should be punished. It seems only fair. Other drivers (aka Button and Vettel can overtake and overtake very well) so if they are doing the right thing, the drivers who are doing the wrong thing should not get off scot-free.

If we went back to permitting "racing incidents," incidents like Schumacher/Hill will happen all the time in the sport - and yet the screaming opinion that is voiced is that Schumacher is a cheat because of that incident. The same fans who justify Senna and Prost 1990 based on '89. The same fans who claim that Vettel's performances are all car, but that Alonso's performances are not. The same fans who want unlimited development to prevent F1 from becoming a spec-series, but who also rant and rave about F1 not being a sport about driver skill. The same fans who....

I'm just finding that my fellow fans of F1 (including myself) are illogical. And this has been starting to cheese me off. Along with the fact that I didn't get to watch the race for the third time in a row - coupled with the recent tragedies in motorsport, I almost cannot be a fan anymore. And by the sounds of things I have missed out on some really epic races, including Monza this year. But it's my fault for selling the TV. Imma go check myself into psych ward now....

I thought this race was one of the worst of the season, rather processional with the exception of a few overtakes and the inevitable collision between Hamilton and Massa, which I believe was 50/50, Massa should have allowed more room, Lewis should have backed out earlier when it was clear that Massa was going to take the racing line. I am most disappointed because like Korea last year, the track wasn't 100% ready, painted mud and dirt on the corners to make it look like grass, the track was absolutely filthy off-line, attempting to overtake off line was more of a penalty than an advantage. I would suggest that tracks in future need to be ready twelve months before the event is sanctioned to avoid these issues, maybe have some other race series test the track first.

I feel that LH wasn't ahead enough to claim the corner and Massa should have allowed more room, but that was never going to happen, nearly every collision they've had have been carbon copies!

Not exactly a boring race but where was all the overtaking?...

It's a Tilke circuit. There is no overtaking on Tilke circuits, only long strings of parade laps.

Overtaking apparently offends Tilke's Teutonic sensibilities. They're a very orderly people, those Teutons. The drivers should finish the race in the same order in which they began, else there is chaos.

I hear Bernie has hit upon the idea of releasing more stray dogs into the compound before next year's GP of India, in hopes that will provide additional opportunities for overtaking. If that doesn't work, he intends making the drivers drink the local water. Drivers who make it to Q3 must drink three glasses, drivers who make Q2 must drink two ...and so on. The resulting additional pit stops should do what electric motors, drag-reducing wings, disintegrating tyres, loose pets on the circuit and Hermann Tilke could not.
