Lets face it, which team in F1 would not sign him if he darkened their door?!?!?

Williams.

They have a history of sacking or passing on future (And indeed, reigning) world champions

Yeah, totally agree. I wonder hw team with such terrible politics inside were able to get so many titles

that was quite a few years ago, times change

Well they missed out on Hamilton, got into a situation where they couldn't get Button back and they just ditched Hulkenberg despite claiming they still think he could be a champion - let's hope for their sake they're wrong. So it might have been more recent than you think.

Every team wants Vettel after he wins the WDC,

they also want to seem like front runners by acting like they have a chance at getting the CHAMP

I think this is more media speculation than anything, Vettel's gone mega now he's WDC, it's not wonder rumours are flying everywhere.

Are you serious? They held his coronation two years prior. Him getting the title was (in the eyes of the inner circle) apparently a mere formality.

Eh? Sure it's obvious Mercedes love German drivers and Vettel as the next Shumacher is a great thing for them, but I doubt they'd seriously start talking about him going there publicly, look at how he was linked to Ferrari.

I'm talking about the idea that he's only "gone mega" since winning the WDC. The way the F1 insiders were carrying on, he won it in 2008.

Guess it depends on how you judge mega, its pretty arbitrary. Anyway, I stand by my point in context, rumours are flying everywhere as a consequence of him winning the WDC.

I don't know that I buy that. I heard all these rumours before.

I wouldn't be surprised to see SV at Mercedes down the road, more specifically once MS retires for good and the car is up to snuff, i.e., 2013.
