I was wrong and bud was right (I don't say that very often), it wasn't a draw, great result for England, Australia look a shadow of their former selves. Shane Warne has been getting it in the neck from the former English players on the Sky Sports commentary, maybe Warne should come out of retirement to help the Aussie cause?

8-) haha, you know it's lucky too we just had another tropical storm come through, this time with hail. my poor car better not be dented :banghead:

oh for crying out loud............ England has been outplayed for nearly 20 years by Australia and suddenly all the rats come out to cheer.

I only wish that the Poms could be as magnanimous in victory as they are quiet in defeat. Your team has been poo since Botham.

It's that time again, the Ashes tour goes down under. We have a few Aussies on here and a lot of Brits. Let the battle of words begin!

I'll start with, not a great start for the Englishmen, not batted brilliantly, let's hope for a better batting performance to rival Australia's!

For those of you that don't know, I am the "Englishman in Kansas" in case you wondered where my allegiances lie! :P

What's up brotha.. I'm in Kansas too. I'm in Kansas City, walking distance from the KS/MO boarder. :drink:

England have won both Ashes series in England since 2005, yes England were embarrassed by Australia in 2006/07. The Aussies do their fair share of gloating when they beat England in the Ashes and also very quiet when they lose, that's the nature if being a fan, no fan likes their team to lose and certainly not going to publicise it!

KC has infinitely more life than Wichita, especially if you cross to the Missouri side, nothing here other than corn fields and prairie land!

So....no interesting banter from the Englishmen here after today's magnificent play in Perth?

Game on!

i think its fair to say that weve got very little chance now in this test! :hehe:

Although not impossible to win this test, England have a massive uphill battle, more realistically, Australia will clear up the remaining five wickets before tea. Australia have been the better team hands down, England have been poor with the bat, what happened to those players who made double hundreds? they certainly didn't turn up for this test!

What happened?......the English batsmen are awesome on flat, dead pitches like Brisbane and Adelaide. But just like what happened at Centurian in South Africa where you got blown away by the Yarpies....the same has happened in Perth.

To be the best in the world you have to win in all conditions.....not just the ones that suit you. Best of all....the Sydney and Melbourne tests will be a challenge as well.

urm....before lunch I'd say.

I said tea because I didn't want to look like a fool, the morning session is only two hours I believe, England could survive two hours (I'd hope  ).

youre right when you say that england struggle on fast bouncy pitches because they are non exsistent in the england, but i was watching the skysports coverage this morning and they were saying that the pitches in melbourne and sydney are different to perth, and remember that the austrailian line up has weaknesses too, its finely balanced id say!
