I think Piquet should have got a life time ban from FIA sports and Pat & Flavio a seriously big fine. This whole thing is wrong. Piquet used the FIA to try get back at Renault/Flavio and the FIA kindly went along with it.

 My thoughts exactly.

100% spot on mate !

is Piquet racing at the moment ?

Go Karts & Nastycars. As of yet he has signed no contracts to race in a pro motor sport season. Obviously he is trying to get back into F1. :irked:

I'd be very surprised to see him back on the grid, certainly in the next few years. Maybe once he's proved himself in other disciplines he might be given another chance in F1.

I can't believe that the decision was overturned.

Why can't you? Unfortunately, the reasons that the court made the decision that they did were spot-on.

In Formula One, money talks and unfortunately for us, the Piquets have a lot of it. If Senior wants Junior back in, I'm sure his cash will find the boy a seat somewhere.

Yes money talks (hence why Monaco is still on the calender), but at the same time, once the sponsers learn that Piquet is driving for the team they've just thrown alot of money at, they wont be happy for their own corporate image, hence why ING pulled away from renault at the end of last season. It can be argued that ING pull out was happening anyway, but Piquet's reputation is very damaged at the moment, and will a sponser want to be associated with that?

Nelsinho has daddy's wallet and the backing of Bernie Ecclestone. If one of the new teams came under financial pressure, it is quite likely that with some funding from Senior and a nudge from Bernie, they would take on Junior. There are plenty of companies out there who would not be fussed about an association with Junior.

Monaco is on the calendar for its heritage status also....

Correct and that is where it should stay.

couldn't disagree more, not about the heritage of the track, not disputing that at all, but that it should stay. Did heritage help Silverstone? Not in the slightest.

Monaco is not fit for purpose anymore, its that simple.

No its a tight and tisty circuit that really tests the drivers - they can wreck their whole weekend if they get it wrong at monaco (ie Lewis).

I assume you meant twisty there?

Every track tests a driver in different ways, there are other twisty tracks on the calender, and other countries want to be on the calender as well. No track is ever deemed Easy.....easiER perhaps, but not easy. Every track you can wreck the whole weekend with a single mistake, but I assume you mean about sticking it in the walls. Valencia (which has much the same problem in my opinion, but its a much newer track that could be altered)? Singapore?
