Lets face it, no matter how much we do not like to admit it. there is only 2 teams in F1 that will be at the front (they may have an off year) other teams might have 1 or 2 years of success and then fade away. Ferrari and Mclaren will always be around. I think the Alonso/Mclaren bridge has been well and truly burnt. so unless he is lucky to find another flash in the pan team like Renault he had better be nice to the hand that feeds him.

Alonso really does need to behave at Ferrari because this is probably one of the few high ranking teams that would employ him now because of the problems he had at Mclaren. Also he probably does not have too many years left ahead of him, in my opinion Ferrari will be the last team that Alonso drives for in his career.

I love that my spelling has been corrected xx Thankyou xx

I am sensing I may have got off on the wrong foot here...my point is that I am thinking that you wouldn't succeed in something as 'pinacle' as F1 were you not motivated towards self satisfaction and gain. I don't see how Vettel not having a manager proves he is not selfish to some degree...It may prove the oppisite, he doesn't want to share his cash with a manger..thats self serving is it not? Looking after ones self is not always a bad thing either...I think that it has been taken as a negitive, we all look after ourselves to a certain degree.

F1 is cut throat and if you don't display that self nurturing to some degree then off you go, surely?

Ferrari are trying to control a particulaly strong and selfish character (2 times world champion), as I originally pointed out...is duckling the life out of Kimi not enough? This control freaking will only lead to demise....and the only way success was fruitful in the recent past (not always) was building the team around a driver/s...the most recent example being one of the most self serving drivers to ever grace the grid  Not that this should be the way it is done...and isn't done with other teams.

They are all the same in essence....out for themselves...its the level of understanding of team work and the self control that is displayed outwardly that determines the public perception.

I am not an expert.....its just the way I see it.

Re. SV not having a manager. If he had one, he'd have in all likelihood a higher paying contract. Not having a negotiator on your behalf in my view shows that it is not all that important to him and he simply wants to race and have the right conditions to do so.

Fair point...I didn't look at it that way :D

Yeah - I don't think Vettel is selfish. Vettel in my opinion has one of the best personalities on the grid. I saw a video of Vettel sitting in the pit lane playing on his PSP, with other drivers watching him. It doesn't mean anything really, but I guess it shows that Vettel still has his youthfulness in check.

But he has never once hinted that his is better than his team mate. He will always give praise to his team first before talking about what a fantastic race it was for him. And he doesn't ever blame his team or anyone else when his car has an issue. Instead he says, "It was an unlucky day for me. I just did not get off to a good start."

The team have gone on record saying they are extremely satisfied with the attitude of both of their drivers. It's a dream team.

And Vettel has always been the 2nd driver on his team, and he's always out-shone the first driver in his team. The issue at McLaren is that both of their drivers were as selfish as each other.

McLaren should've done what Ferrari are doing now which is set boundaries. No other drivers have really been selfish this year except Trulli, and to a minor degree Rosberg. (Although Rosberg's case is well justified.)

However, in light of the latest news here about Alonso, I think that he will have the common sense to obey Ferrari's orders and will be a team player. I don't why it's being discussed. It's like duh.

McLaren said they would love to have Alonso back this year?

Ferrari kicked Kimi out to have Alonso in. Renault were in tears when he was leaving. There isn't a team on the grid who wouldn't like to have Alonso behind the wheel of their car and their isn't a driver who wants him as their team mate.

Pretty awesome credentials huh?

If Mclaren were serious theyd be damn sure to get some guidelines written in this time. Like dont try blackmailing your employer.

i am looking forward to seeing alonso in a decent car again, he is stupidly quick at times. still a real shame that alonso and hamilton couldn't get on, probably the strongest possible line up at the time.

Yup. Vettel is a great guy, he's something else. But most drivers are humble on the record as well. Even the Alonso bashers will have a hard time finding out a time when Alonso said something selfish; he is ussually pretty 'polite' to other drivers and the team when he speaks. Kimi as well... doesnt mean they are not cut-throat. The same could be said about Vettel. He can be humble, and polite... but that doesnt mean he's gonna move his car to let a fella pass. Maybe the only ones who've said selfish stuff is Lewis and Kubica.......

As an employee Alonso should do what his employer wants! I think right now Alonso need Ferrari more than Ferrari needs Alonso

Really? i think they need eachother right now.
And so he should do what his employer wants? like Barrichello did? or Piquet Jr? :bs:
Alonso is part of the Ferrari team now, yes he should realise this. But most importantly he should honor his contract and perform to the best of his abilities. The rest, should be left to the team management.

I like Vettel. Personally, I think Vettel is and even better driver than Lewis.

Anyways, Vettel's always struck me as a ferrari type of driver. Just like I always thought of Nico Rosberg to be more of the Mclaren type.

I still think those drivers will be driving for those teams at one point in their respective careers.
