No they don't!
He didn't score in 1994 while MS won the first two races. He lost control of his car while behind MS in Brazil and got overtaken by MS at the start in Japan (and then couldn't continue after contact with another car). I have the feeling those non-scoring races had something to do with his crash in Imola - maybe he wanted to prove to himself and the world that he'd still had it in him and went all out when he maybe shouldn't have...

Alonso better than Piquet?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Yes. A lot better.

Well, I disagree with you and we'll have to leave it at that.

If Villeneuve is up there for his driving style, then Hamilton should be above him.

Let's face it, if you die while driving it makes you more of a God for pushing to the limits.

What I've been told which I agree: If you died, then that should reflect worse. If you really are the greatest driver in history then you would not be involved in a fatal accident.

I do believe that Senna is an exceptional driver, which is evident by his reactions on that despairing day. :( But it is unfair to promote someone just because they died. Schumacher (although I hate him) is better, because he lived and got 7 championships.

You cannot judge the greatest ever on "potential" as death ends everything. Needless to say, Senna is my favourite historical driver.

BTW - I'm happy that Vettel finished above Button. :D

What a ridiculous comment.

Yes, it is a very cruel statement to make, and I'm sorry I had to make it. :(

But Senna died at 3, Michael lived and got 7. That's why he should be first. Despite how much I'd like Senna to win, this is an unfortunate fact.

Thankfully this is an opinionated list so Senna should be first, because he's a legend.
My personal list would have Senna in first Villeneuve in about 15th.

I disagree completely. I don't see how the fact that either Villeneuve, Senna, Clark etc. died while driving makes them less great. Firstly we don't know the facts behind why Senna (and Clark) crashed, Villeneuve's was a horrible accident. And secondly, safety wasn't as good. Crashing then had greater risks than it does now.

I also don't believe that the number of championships you win is the deciding factor when calculating greatness. Sir Jackie says it all the time, and he's right, we can only really determine the best of any era and the rest is just opinion. Clark was arguably the best of his, Senna and Schumacher the best of theirs...

I think I'm missing something when it comes to Gilles Villenueve. Was he really that good? Better than Piquet, Hakkinen, G Hill etc.?

As with AS it's got a lot to do with his mythical status due to his death in my opinion.

typical Schumi lamb :bs:
