I'm not a pro tennis player no. But I do have two eyes.

Imagine Baird saying 'It's a bit grainy and difficult to watch, I think I'll just give up on this one.'

Many people wear glasses, many tv/player/reciever/console manufacturers are looking into 3D at the moment and if it does start to take off which I suspect it's going to soon with an increased amount of media available in the form of movies, tv transmissions, and gaming then glasses manufacturers will start providing more options than the things you get at the cinema.

Many people do wear glasses (Myself included). That's another reason 3D Glasses are a bad idea. Wearing two pairs of glasses at once is incredibly uncomfortable, especially for long stretches (1-2 and up).

TV/Receiver/Console manufacturers are always looking into something. It does not make them right. They think because they went heavily into HD and the market followed, the same will apply for 3D. Not so. People do not like buying new TVs, the reason HD adoption is so high is because it coincided with the mandatory Digital Switchovers. People will not be buying multi-thousand pound TVs again any time soon.

On that spending note, are you aware that many of these TVs ship with only 1 or 2 pairs of Glasses (If any) and that extra pairs run anything from $50-100? It's not an attractive proposition for the mass market.

F1 needs to come online properly via the F1 website & offer HD viewing. F1 online would rock, you could be your own director. They should do it on a subscription basis, im sick of using proxies to watch it via the BBC iPlayer.

If it hit the mainstream, the prices wouldn't be $50-100 a pair because most people wouldn't buy into it. Like everything else that hits the market, competition forces prices to go down, so as long as its not all governed by one company, I don't think price should be too much of a concern.

I recently saw Avatar in 3D and thought it was cool for about 30 minutes, after that it really did nothing for me. I wear glasses and have found most variations of 3D glasses to be uncomfortable, and I feel like when you watch stuff in 3D, you miss out on a lot of the stuff in the background because you are forced to watch what is right in front of you, you miss out on a lot of the details. That said, can you imagine how cool on-board or helmet cam footage would be in 3D?

As I was trying to say more options will appear:

http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/26578 ... _lens.html

Maybe that won't be ideal either but if 3D does take off then you'll probably get more options, you get prescription sunglasses, why not prescription 3D glasses? if you can't afford then you'll just have to make do with the clip ons.

The manufacturers are looking at various methods, not all of which will involve a large increase in the cost of the TVs but yes, you'll have to pay for the glasses. Like any new tech, you pay for it at fist but the prices drop.

When Brundle was talking at the Autosport show today, he mentioned that Bernie is planning to make F1 HD for 2011. One of the reasons that F1 isn't already broadcast in HD is because the equipment required for HD onboard camera footage would break so easily.
