Wouldn't say sutil a great driver unless he manages to mature and not crash as much. A team like forceindia needs someone who won't blow the relativity few chances they get, who can drive consistently and safely.

I believe luzzi is also very good for development? Plus force india knew their drivers very early on, and I think they should have put a decent amount of effort into next years car.

Ferrari's 2005 season was much like this years season. They got it all wrong with their car for one reason or another. 2010 will be like 2006 for Ferrari. You would be a fool to think they won't be one if not the best teams again.

If Williams spring a surprise for 2010, thats what it will be... a surprise because no one expects them to be any better than this year, they don't have the resources like Brawn/Honda did to build a winning car.

I'd like to see Williams to improve in 2010, they have a steady driver in Rubens and a hot shoe in the Hulk but basically it all comes down to whether the Cosworth has the minerals. I think the Williams was let down by the Toyota this year and the chassis deserved a better engine, hopefully the that engine is the cosworth........but it's a bit ask from cosworth.

I dont agree, as there was nothing wrong with their 05 car, it was all down to the tyre rules changing! 06 came along Ferrari influenced the FIA to reintroduce the tyre change rule and they were back on form. IF the tyre rules stayed the same in 05 then Ferrari wouldnt have had a downward blip on their chart.

and now in 09 where their problems were aero, it will be harder for them to claw it back than what youre comparing it to.

Their main problem was KERS, McLaren's was aero! :hehe: And besides, Ferrari were catching Brawn and Red Bull before they stopped development on their car, which says a lot too...

Well tyre changes(2005) and aero changes(2009) in the regulations in both cases caught them out is my point, i think their mistakes are obvious. McLaren overcame huge aero problems mid season while Ferrari just stopped development of the F60 in favour for focus on the 2010 challenger.

who is to say they are not going to have issues with the non refuelling rules next year?

Everyone may
#173701
Well... Alonso said the refuelling ban wont be much of an issue at all..

I guess it wont for him, he seems to be alright with full fuel loads and light fuel loads, not much in between....
#173706
I always though Alonso used his front tyres up a bit.

I think the key to next year is tyre wear. So people like Brawn/Merc who struggled to warm the tyres up last year are going to be laughing next year.

Also smooth drivers it will be good for like Rubens, Button etc

You mean there might be some snag that lengthens a pitstop while NOT putting gas in?

IN the early 90s when there was no refuelling, I kind of liked it. There was some element of purity added to the racing. I never heard any driver say anything about the car's handling. I bet it will be somehow different this year than in that old non refueling era though. I bet there'll be issues with compromising the setup what with a drastic weight loss during the race, and some teams will deal with it well, and others not so well at first.

Yes, whatever in-race aero changes are allowed, I would think now more than ever they'll use that provision to the max.
#173763
Weight changes could be a reason to have drivers come in for new tires AND change some aero settings.

Why do I feel tempted to mention Montoya? :P
