The F1 driver market seems to be shifting around. My good friend Heikki Kulta from Turun Sanomat reports that Kimi is to take a sabbatical

I believe KImi has had his eye on Rallying for some time now; he seemed much happier in his rally debut than he ever did in F1. Maybe he's taking a sabbatical and coming back as a rally driver in 2011.

well 17 million a year on the dole, or 16 millon a year to work..... hmm let me decide

yeah but come on.. to drive a mcLaren F1 car.....Id do it!!

He's already done it though, and he has a championship. Kimi is not a man who wastes his energy on sentimentality, he just wants to drive and get his cash. I guess he's happy to satiate the former want with rally cars for a year.

Crap news. But FAR from being Ferrari's fault!
On 1 hand you got a great driver unwilling to commit further than 1yr, does not want to do PR, did not bring glory to Maranello. On the other, a great driver willing to commit for the long term, brings in a smiling Santander, sponsors are happy = team's happy. May or may not bring glory to Maranello, but if he can't then no one can.
Who would you choose??

Kimi dug his own grave here. He even had a chance at Mclaren and dogged it cause he wanted more than the bankload he's already getting from Ferrari...

Well i know he has, and it must be mind blowing driving those cars, so to turn a top one down for 1 mil when we're talking such high figures...cant want it bad enough. Maybe like Jabberwocky says it'll make him realise what he's missing, not sure tho, I think his eye has been on rallying for a while.

There goes my dream 2010 McLaren team :crying:

I hope he does come back but if he left because of £1-2m then he obviously wasn't motivated enough.

He's WRC bound apparently.

Might watch that more next year.
